About the RoleHungryroot is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Android to join our growing Mobile team. This engineer needs to specialize in Android development. As a Sr. Android developer, this person will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, reliable, and maintainable mobile applications for the Android platform. This individual must be an expert in the Android SDK, proficient in Kotlin, and experienced with Jetpack Compose to write clean, efficient, and modern Android applications. The role will also include troubleshooting and debugging of any issues that arise in the app.
This engineer will work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features and make improvements to the Hungryroot app.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, reliable, and maintainable mobile applications for the Android platform using Kotlin
- Work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features and improvements to the app
- Troubleshoot and debug any issues that arise in the app and provide ongoing maintenance and support
- Lead and mentor other developers, and be involved in the development and review of technical designs and architecture
- Participate in code reviews, technical meetings and project planning meetings
- Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest development technologies and best practices in the Android ecosystem
- Minimum of 7+ years experience working on Android apps
- 1+ year of Jetpack Compose
- Experience with Kotlin, Clean Architecture, MVVM, Coroutines/Flow/StateFlow, Hilt/Dagger, REST APIs, OkHttp, unit testing, and Git/CI workflows.
- Good grasp of computer science concepts, common design patterns, good engineering practices, and frequent real world pitfalls.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams

Expected Pay Range:
$160,000 - $180,000
