We are seeking a skilled AI Engineer to contribute to our company's AI initiatives. This role involves introducing cutting-edge AI tooling, establishing best practices, and developing custom models that will drive innovation across our organization. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to implement scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact. 

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – Aliso Viejo, CA or Santa Monica, CA or Bay Area 

 
What You'll Do:
  • Design and implement AI tooling and infrastructure to support company-wide AI adoption 
  • Develop custom machine learning models tailored to specific business use cases 
  • Establish AI/ML best practices, standards, and governance frameworks 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and requirements 
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of AI platforms and technologies 
  • Create documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing programs 
  • Monitor model performance and implement continuous improvement processes 
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and industry trends 

What You've Done:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related technical field 
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning and AI development 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Experience with ML Ops tools and practices (ML flow, Kubeflow, DVC, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture 
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language (R, Java, Scala) 
  • Strong experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) 
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their ML services 
  • Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation 
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines 
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Knowledge of data engineering tools and practices (Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow) 
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods 

It Would Be Nice If You Have:

  • Master's or PhD in Machine Learning, AI, Data Science, or related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role 
  • Exposure to regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, CCPA, industry-specific) 
  • Understanding of data privacy and security considerations in AI systems 
  • Experience in business process optimization and change management 
  • Experience contributing to AI transformation initiatives or digital transformation projects 
  • Background in consulting or working with multiple business stakeholders 
  • Knowledge of deep learning architectures and neural network optimization 
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
