Vox Media is seeking a senior social video producer who understands the ever-changing social media landscape and is highly organized to support social video production across our regional network at Eater.

Reporting directly to the Supervising Producer, Social Video, this individual will oversee a network of freelance correspondents and support a team of regional audience editors tasked with producing social video. The ideal candidate has experience producing a variety of social videos with the initiative to ideate new concepts, kick-start, and manage multiple projects from start to finish in a fast-paced setting, a razor-sharp eye for details, and skilled communicator (in person and remotely). This individual should balance social video execution based on Vox Media’s business priorities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Management: Creative and production management of a network of freelance correspondents.

Execution/Production: Produce, execute, and edit social videos across a variety of formats and regions. This includes support for city audience editor social videos.

Sponsorships: Create and deliver social video concepts or series based on specific sponsorship campaigns. This includes working with the Supervising Producer on conceptualizing new ideas and delegating execution.
Talent Management: Support the Supervising Producer and Head of Production on talent management with creators.
Content Development: Create new & existing social video concepts with social producers, audience editors, editorial leads, and aud dev directors to ensure we are delivering the highest quality content possible.

Platform Management: Work alongside Audience Development Directors to make sure video content is published promptly and optimally across our regional networks.

 

WHO YOU ARE
  • 6+ years of professional experience producing social video (creation through post)
  • Strong skills in developing social concepts for video
  • Strong understanding of video analytics on the platforms and the impact they play
  • Experience with sponsorship campaigns 
  • Both high-end (ie. DSLR) and low-fi (ie. iPhone) shooting capabilities for social
  • Previous people & freelance management experience a plus
  • Previous Talent or Creator management experience, including working with agents
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Ability to work across different brands and on different platforms
  • Strong storytelling capabilities
  • An understanding that social video changes rapidly

All staffers at Eater work across Eater’s umbrella of brands (Eater, Punch, Pre Shift, Thrillist) on a variety of platforms (on-site, social video, newsletter, the app, and more), should be comfortable dining out for work and filing dining reports afterward, and should be willing to participate in social video, including potentially appearing on camera. Additionally, staffers are expected to represent Eater at industry events, brand events, and media and press opportunities.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
