Position: Senior Social Producer 

Reports To: Director, Social Media 

Department: Marketing 

FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt 


Position Summary:

The Senior Social Producer plays a key role in bringing the Sacramento Kings brand to life through engaging, social-first storytelling. Reporting to the Director, Social Media, this position creates and executes content that strengthens fan engagement, grows digital audiences, and captures the moments that matter both on and off the court. 

Working closely with Basketball Operations, Content, and other internal stakeholders, this role produces platform-native content with an emphasis on real-time storytelling, photography and social-first video. The Senior Social Producer serves as one of the organization's primary storytellers throughout the NBA season, traveling extensively with the team to capture behind-the-scenes content, game coverage and road trips while supporting the execution of the overall social media strategy. 


Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Create and execute engaging, social-first content across Sacramento Kings digital platforms.  

  • Capture, edit and publish high-quality video and photography optimized for social media.  

  • Provide real-time social coverage of games, practices, road trips, community events, press conferences and other team activities.  

  • Travel extensively throughout the NBA season to capture behind-the-scenes content and tell authentic stories that connect fans with the team.  

  • Manage assigned content projects and contribute to the day-to-day social content calendar, balancing planned campaigns with real-time opportunities.  

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Partnerships, Communications, Basketball Operations and other departments to execute integrated campaigns and sponsored content.  

  • Monitor social trends, platform updates and cultural moments to identify timely storytelling opportunities.  

  • Analyze content performance and audience engagement to help inform future content decisions.  

  • Ensure published content meets brand standards and platform best practices.  

  • Build relationships with players, coaches, creators, partners and internal stakeholders to support authentic storytelling.  

  • Operate professional camera equipment and edit content using Adobe Creative Cloud.  

  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as required throughout the NBA season and team events.  


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • 3–5 years of professional experience creating social content for an NBA team, the NBA League Office, or another professional sports organization. Candidates without direct NBA experience should demonstrate exceptional basketball knowledge and a portfolio showcasing basketball storytelling.  

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating social-first video, photography and digital storytelling.  

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Lightroom; After Effects experience is preferred.  

  • Experience operating professional camera systems in live-event environments.  

  • Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook and emerging social platforms.  

  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and content performance.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.  

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.  

  • Strong knowledge of the NBA, basketball culture, sports, entertainment and digital trends.  

  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, creativity and sound judgment.  

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the NBA season. 


Total compensation & offer package will include the following:  

  • Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
