Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation.

We're looking for a highly strategic and data-driven Head of Social Media to own and optimize our social media follower acquisition and conversion across Replit's mobile app and website properties. As the first Head of Social Media hire focused on our community conversion and activations, you'll work directly with our Head of Marketing and collaborate closely with GTM, Product, Engineering, Support, Product Marketing, and Design teams. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment and has successfully scaled conversion programs from 0-to-1 across all major Social Channels: Twitter/X, Meta (Facebook/IG), TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn.

What You'll Do
  • Own social strategy: define voice, content pillars, channels, cadence, and growth loops (reply strategy, quote-tweet patterns, meme language, distribution tactics)

  • Run narrative campaigns: execute launches and multi-week arcs (product, research, ecosystem, partnerships) with clear goals and measurable outputs

  • Community engagement: be in the trenches: replies, quote tweets, relationship-building with major accounts, builders, and media

  • Content production: write punchy posts, threads, memes, and explainer content that makes complex ideas legible and exciting

  • Cross-functional coordination: align with marketing, comms, product, sales, engineer, and legal to ensure accuracy, timing, and risk control

  • Analytics + iteration: track performance (impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, clickthrough, sentiment) and adjust weekly

  • Influencer and ecosystem relationships: identify, engage, and where appropriate, hire influencers and key voices to extend our reach

  • Rapid response + issues management: monitor AI narratives; respond quickly to FUD (social media: fear, uncertainty, doubt) and misinformation; coordinate internally on sensitive topics

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of Social Media experience at high growth companies

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving fast with imperfect information

  • AI-native with a demonstrated track record of growing accounts (personal or brand) in the AI or B2C tech space; you have a portfolio and we can see your work

  • Elite copywriting: concise, witty, incisive: you can do memes without being cringe; we're not embarrassed by how you write

  • Strong instincts for timing, tone, and narrative

  • Deep understanding of AI tools and agentic content workflows

  • Genuinely curious about agentic AI tools and actively using them to scale your own output

  • Comfort with X/Twitter, Reddit organic activation, LinkedIn, TikTok and Instagram

Bonus Qualifications
  • Short form video content creation experience

  • Significant social media following

  • Replit builder

  • Existing relationships with AI influencers, journalists, podcasters, or community leaders

  • Experience at a B2C tech or early-stage startup: you know what it means to build with constraints and high stakes

  • Based in or able to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area

This is a full-time role that can be held from our Foster City, CA office. The role has an in-office requirement of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent β€” not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
