The Role
As a Senior Simultaneous Engineering & Formability Engineer , you will play a critical role in ensuring the manufacturability of all sheet metal product designs. You'll develop stamping processes, perform formability analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams-including Design Studio, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Program Management-to deliver balanced, integrated system designs for future program launches.

The Role
As a Senior Simultaneous Engineering & Formability Engineer , you will play a critical role in ensuring the manufacturability of all sheet metal product designs. You'll develop stamping processes, perform formability analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams-including Design Studio, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Program Management-to deliver balanced, integrated system designs for future program launches.
What You'll Do
- Conduct early manufacturing feasibility studies for new product designs.
- Provide manufacturing input and engineering criteria to Styling and Product Engineering teams.
- Develop preliminary die face layouts and perform formability analyses, iterating to optimize manufacturing conditions and identify potential concerns.
- Propose solutions for manufacturing issues such as splits, wrinkles, surface defects, skid lines, material utilization, press handling, and throughput during product design development.
- Support Die Leads in program health checks, stamping strategy reviews, and deviation requests.
- Review and resolve manufacturability requirements with Product Development (DFM).
- Prepare handoff documents and math data for production die sources during product release.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing CAE for Die & Stamping; 3+ years in Die Processing.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in formability analysis software (AutoForm, DynaForm, PamStamp, LS-DYNA, or similar).
- CAD Skills: Intermediate-level proficiency in NX, Vis Mockup, and Teamcenter Engineering.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical ability to resolve complex and ambiguous issues.
- Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to work independently and across teams.
- Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent discipline OR demonstrated relevant experience
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Expertise in Die Engineering, Die Design, Die Execution, and Tryout.
- Advanced sheet forming simulation skills.
- Advanced surfacing skills using CAD software.
