STV is seeking a Senior Scheduler to join our Project Controls department in our Los Angeles office, specializing in acute care hospital and healthcare facility projects. This role supports high‑complexity hospital construction programs where phasing, infection control, interim life safety measures (ILSM), and continuous operations are critical.
The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining construction‑phase CPM schedules for acute care hospital projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, and healthcare stakeholders to ensure schedules align with clinical requirements, regulatory constraints, and delivery milestones.
Acute care hospital experience is required for this role.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and analyze CPM schedules for acute care hospital and healthcare projects across planning, design, construction, and close‑out phases.
Lead schedule workshops to plan and develop schedules.
Prepare baseline schedules, monthly updates, look‑ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and what‑if analyses in accordance with contract and client requirements.
Review and evaluate contractor Baseline Schedule submissions, schedule updates, look-ahead schedules, and recovery schedules.
Review contactor claims, requests for extension of time, and Time Impact Analyses (TIAs).
Identify and track critical path and near-critical path activities, float consumption, milestone risks, and phasing conflicts specific to hospital operations.
Proactively identify and model potential schedule impacts, and suggest mitigations.
Prepare schedule analysis related to shutdowns, tie‑ins, interim phasing, swing spaces, and occupied facility constraints.
Coordinate closely with construction managers, design teams, inspectors, infection control, safety, and hospital stakeholders to validate sequencing and access assumptions.
Prepare schedule narratives, dashboards, and technical memoranda for internal leadership and client review.
Participate in project meetings, pull‑planning sessions, and schedule risk discussions with contractors and owners.
Preform quantitative risk analysis and prepare related reports as needed.
Cost/resource load schedules, perform resource analysis and forecasting, and produce cashflows
Acute Care / Healthcare Focus
Support projects involving operational hospitals, including renovations, additions, and infrastructure upgrades.
Integrate ICRA, ILSM, OSHPD/HCAI requirements, and hospital operational constraints into schedule logic and phasing.
Assist owners and project teams with schedule mitigation and recovery strategies to minimize disruption to patient care and clinical operations.
Expectations (Senior Scheduler)
Leads scheduling efforts across multiple healthcare projects or programs.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures to evaluate contractor schedules and phasing strategies.
Interfaces regularly with senior internal staff and client representatives.
Independently manages complex hospital project schedules.
Provides advisory‑level input on phasing strategy, recovery planning, and schedule risk.
Mentors junior schedulers and contributes to scheduling best practices within the Project Controls group.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
15+ years of CPM scheduling experience supporting construction projects.
Demonstrated acute care hospital / healthcare facility construction experience (required).
Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6; Microsoft Project familiarity a plus.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, phasing, schedule analysis, and claims avoidance.
Ability to clearly communicate technical schedule information to non‑technical healthcare stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in occupied hospital environments.
Design‑build or CM‑at‑Risk healthcare project scheduling experience.
Familiarity with OSHPD/HCAI‑regulated projects (California).
Experience supporting claims analysis, delay evaluations, or forensic schedule reviews on healthcare projects.
Compensation Range:
