Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant responsible for SAP Finance implementation and support in manufacturing and insurance environments. Duties include configuring FI modules, preparing functional specifications, coordinating with ABAP teams, leading unit, integration, SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare activities, ensuring IFRS and GAAP compliance, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and supporting post-go-live knowledge transfer and process improvements.

Role Summary
Client is seeking an experienced senior SAP S4 HANA FICO Consultant based in the USA, preferably located near Chicago, IL area or Danville, IL and/or Waukesha, WI to travel on site the later two locations throughout the project, whenever needed.
You will be supporting the client strategy, to contribute to the project success and work with the SAP project team. There will be two SAP functional senior consultants performing as local focal points with broader SAP experience on Finance and logistics to support the project locally from early June to be there for the SIT start (early of July) until the first monthly closing after the go live, for approximately in February for approximately 9 months.
Main Activities: Support SIT and UAT testing, Support Cutover and Hypercare besides the SAP Module implementation itself if needed (Functional Specifications, Adapt code, configurations, unit testing, documentation as required and so on)
Key ResponsibilitiesRequired Skills & Experience
SAP Expertise
Minimum 8-12+ years in SAP FICO functional consulting in manufacturing sector.
Strong understanding of FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR,
Experience with S/4HANA Finance innovations
Knowledge of Accounting "Best Practices" a plus.
Business Knowledge
In-depth understanding of insurance industry finance processes,
Soft Skills
Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills.
Excellent stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation abilities.
Ability to work in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Prepare functional specifications and work with ABAP teams for enhancements, user exits, and custom reports.
Lead unit, integration, and UAT testing for FICO various components.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, on global project, and other applicable accounting standards.
Support & Continuous Improvement
Provide post-go-live support and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Identify process improvement opportunities in financial operations and insurance accounting.
SAP Certified Application Associate – Financial Accounting with SAP S/4HANA.
Previous experience in large-scale Automotive, steel or manufacturing sector services SAP
