Summary:
You will join the Enterprise Systems team and lead a group of Salesforce developers to design and build robust, scalable Salesforce applications and integrations that streamline and enhance core business operations. As a technical leader, you will help manage the team’s backlog, champion Salesforce best practices, ensure code quality and long-term maintainability, and guide the architectural direction of the Salesforce platform. You’ll collaborate closely with technical leadership, product managers, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful, high-quality solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce developers, both onshore and offshore, to deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain custom Salesforce applications, integrations, and automations using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, admins, and other engineering teams to ship new features and improvements.
Participate in technical design and architecture discussions, ensuring scalability and adherence to Salesforce development best practices.
Perform code reviews and provide guidance to ensure code quality, maintainability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
Build and maintain integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, or middleware platforms.
Monitor and optimize performance of Salesforce applications and address platform limitations and governor limits.
Maintain rigorous documentation and contribute to the evolution of coding standards and internal frameworks.
Stay current with Salesforce releases and industry trends to ensure platform innovation and capability expansion.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
Core Competency Requirements:
Prior experience as a technical lead or playing a key leadership role on a Salesforce development team.
Strong proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce declarative tools (Flows, Process Builder, etc.).
Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party systems via APIs and middleware solutions.
Solid understanding of Salesforce architecture, security model, and data model.
Experience with Salesforce DevOps practices and tooling (e.g., SFDX, Gearset, Copado).
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and asynchronous processing in Salesforce.
Experience working with both onshore and offshore development teams.
Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
Experience writing unit tests and utilizing testing frameworks like Apex Mocks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
Competency Nice to Haves:
Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer II, Application Architect, System Architect).
Experience working with Salesforce Experience Cloud or Marketing Cloud.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and managed package development.
Experience with ETL tools or Salesforce Connect.
Knowledge of the insurance industry.
Education, Training and Experience:
5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including 2+ years in a senior or lead engineering role.
Proven track record of delivering scalable Salesforce solutions that solve complex business problems.
Experience leading development teams through full SDLC in an Agile environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $140,000 to $190,000 per year.
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
