About the Team/Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sales Specialist to join the OTR Sales Team. This role will be responsible for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within the OTR base of accounts and fleet industry. This growth is achieved by both visiting new prospects and current customers face to face in an effort to learn and understand their business, propose innovative solutions that can be provided by WEX, and ultimately close new business. This is an individual contributor position and is ideal for an experienced, results-orientated individual with a consultative sales approach.  

How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop relationships and work with the OTR regional and national sales team to up sale corporate payments to OTR customers.

  • Identifying/qualifying opportunities with various types for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within the OTR base of accounts and fleet industry.

  • Being creative in your approach to identifying the ‘right’ target companies and initiating contact with the correct people within that organization.

  • Managing the sales process through the complete sales cycle from lead generation and initial prospect contact through to successful closing of deals and follow-up sales activities

  • Effectively communicate WEX’s market proposition; accurately interpret clients’ needs or pain points; propose suitable solutions.

  • Understanding the prospect and their drivers and developing strong client relationships with a matrix of stakeholders within the organization

  • Preparing high-quality presentations and proposals for submission to prospects in support of new business pitches and bid opportunities

  • Experienced in contract negotiation

  • Providing timely and accurate revenue forecasting and management information; and reporting on a regular basis as required

  • Working closely with the internal operations teams to optimize the sales process from the first customer contact and to ensure smooth delivery of client services in line with customer expectations

  • Keeping the Salesforce and Account Management systems fully up to date with relevant data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ of direct sales, account and/or channel management develop experience.

  • OTR experience and/ or virtual payment industry knowledge are a substantial plus

  • Ability to participate in strategy development and lead attainment of critical objectives

  • Proven track record of managing business development activities to achieve growth targets

  • Required overnight travel 75%

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
