WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with persons requiring middle size to large and complex group accommodations (generally over 100 guest rooms with the potential for deployment adjustment) with or without meeting space and/or on-site (hotel) catering, based upon market segment and account files assigned by the Director of Group & Catering Sales. Represent hotel in significant interactions dealing with clients relative to sales and operational questions, concerns, and issues. Negotiate contracts with clients and commission agreements with third party agencies.  Represent the hotel during business travel and industry events.

- Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective clients primarily of the hotel guest rooms, meeting space and/or banquet offerings including date, space and rate availability. Develop and pricing strategies to capture new business and retain existing, repeat business.

- Engage in outside sales activities to discuss business opportunities and entertain clients in local and assigned markets (percentage of travel dependent on specific market). Direct site visits and familiarization tours for respective accounts.  Participation in tradeshows, industry and client events.

- Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, sales meeting, monthly team meeting, etc.

- Conduct site inspections with potential clients, showcasing guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as other hotel outlet offerings.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Minimum of four years of college level courses with an emphasis on business.

- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications preferred.

- Requires a minimum of four years’ experience specifically in hotel sales.
