We are looking for a dynamic, curious, motivated, and self-starting Senior Solutions/Sales Engineer (SSE) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-sales technical engagements with our customers and prospects to represent the Calix Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access product portfolio and solutions. This role supports advanced solutions on the Access Specialist team, working with Calix Territory Sales Engineers primarily as a technical overlay.  The SSE is expected to learn the Calix value proposition, deliver compelling presentations, demonstrate product capabilities, and design comprehensive network solutions to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Represent Calix as the technical expert and evangelist of technical solutions

  • Lead the technical solution strategy.

  • Assist customers with network architectures aligned with business requirements

  • Deliver presentations to customer technical staff and senior management

  • Lead the pre-sales technical process and solution positioning.

  • Assist sales teams with customer business requirements.

  • Respond to customer RFP’s and other customer inquiries.

  • Assist customers and partners in configuring and testing products in labs and field trials.

  • Guide customers through technical and operational issues within areas of expertise.

  • Explain technical concepts clearly and influence decisions for Calix.

  • Train and update Calix partners on the latest products and software releases.

  • Research and stay up to date on industry standards and trends.

Qualifications:

  • BSEE/BSCS degree is desired and preferred.

  • Experience with Layer 1/2/3 network architectures and technologies

  • Solid understanding of SaaS cloud-based solutions and API integration.

  • Ability to convey complex concepts at multiple levels within an organization.

  • Experience with various Wi-Fi standards and managed Wi-Fi solutions.

  • Experience in the service provider industry preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and soft skills.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work remotely and travel frequently within territory.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Industry certifications preferred but not required.

The on-target earnings for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

198,000 - 297,000 USD Annual

Select US Metros and States:

172,000 - 258,000 USD Annual

Other US Locations:

155,000 - 233,000 USD Annual
