About the role:

Higgsfield AI is seeking a Senior Revenue Accounting Manager to own revenue recognition and the order-to-cash lifecycle end to end.

This is a highly hands-on role supporting a high-volume, consumption-based business with a credit-driven revenue model. You will own the accounting judgments, systems, processes, and controls that support revenue across self-serve, enterprise, platform, and partnership motions.

This is a builder role. You will have the opportunity to establish and scale processes that are still evolving, reduce manual workflows, strengthen our financial controls, and build the infrastructure required to support Higgsfield's continued hypergrowth.

What You'll Do:

Own Revenue Recognition

  • Own the monthly revenue close across Higgsfield's consumption and credit-based revenue model, including credit grants, consumption, breakage, unused balances, refunds, and chargebacks.

  • Maintain and evolve Higgsfield's revenue recognition policies under ASC 606, including judgments around performance obligations, promotional and grace-period credits, variable consideration, and material rights.

  • Review non-standard commercial arrangements across enterprise, reseller, platform, and strategic partnership deals and determine the appropriate accounting treatment.

  • Evaluate complex revenue considerations including principal-versus-agent conclusions and other technical accounting matters.

Lead Order-to-Cash Operations

  • Own the order-to-cash lifecycle end to end, including order capture, billing, invoicing, cash application, collections, disputes, and revenue reporting.

  • Manage billing across self-serve and enterprise business models, including usage-based billing, post-paid overages, and true-ups.

  • Own accounts receivable operations, including aging, collections cadence, reserve methodology, and write-off processes.

  • Design, document, and continuously improve order-to-cash workflows, controls, and segregation of duties.

Build Scalable Revenue Systems

  • Own the revenue automation and reconciliation environment, including HubiFi and the audit trail from financial reporting down to the underlying transaction.

  • Own revenue-related Stripe processes, including payouts, fees, settlement timing, and reconciliation of gross transaction activity to cash received.

  • Partner closely with Engineering and Data to ensure the completeness, quality, and reliability of usage and credit-consumption data supporting revenue recognition.

  • Drive automation across the revenue close and systematically reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets.

Drive Close, Reconciliation, and Controls

  • Own revenue and AR balance sheet reconciliations, including bookings-to-cash analysis and proof-of-cash processes.

  • Own the revenue portion of the close calendar and identify opportunities to shorten close timelines while maintaining accuracy and control.

  • Build revenue reporting and analytics for Finance leadership and other key stakeholders.

  • Establish scalable controls and documentation to support a growing and increasingly complex business.

Support Audit Readiness

  • Serve as the primary Finance point of contact for external auditors on revenue recognition and order-to-cash processes.

  • Prepare audit support, walkthroughs, reconciliations, process narratives, and other PBC materials.

  • Help strengthen revenue processes and controls as Higgsfield continues to scale and prepares for increasing audit and reporting requirements.

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of accounting experience with meaningful depth in revenue accounting.

  • Strong practical knowledge of ASC 606, including complex judgment areas such as variable consideration, breakage, principal versus agent, and material rights.

  • Hands-on experience owning revenue accounting in a high-volume environment involving usage-based, consumption-based, credit-based, or scaled subscription revenue.

  • Demonstrated experience owning order-to-cash processes, including billing and accounts receivable.

  • Experience working directly with payment platforms and reconciling transaction activity, fees, settlements, and payouts to cash; Stripe experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience configuring or administering revenue automation or subscription billing systems such as HubiFi, Zuora, NetSuite ARM, RevPro, Maxio, or similar.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly with transaction-level data to independently investigate and validate financial activity.

  • Advanced Excel skills; SQL experience is a strong plus.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-growth environment where processes and systems are still being built.

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with Finance, Engineering, Data, and other teams.

Nice to Have:

  • CPA.

  • Big 4 or national accounting firm experience.

  • Experience supporting an IPO, audit-readiness process, or similarly scaled financial environment.

  • NetSuite experience.

  • Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, or intercompany revenue flows.

  • Experience building accounting processes from the ground up in a startup or high-growth environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • We offer a competitive and thoughtfully structured compensation package designed to align with impact, experience, and long-term growth.

  • Base Salary: The anticipated salary range for this role is $175,000 - $220,000 depending on experience, skills, scope, and location.

  • Equity: In addition to cash compensation, employees are eligible to participate in the company’s stock option program and share in Higgsfield’s long-term growth.

  • Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees professionally and personally, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a competitive 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, and additional benefits and perks.

  • The opportunity to work on ambitious AI products alongside a highly experienced, fast-moving, and international team.

  • Significant ownership, direct impact, and opportunities for professional growth as the company scales.

This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Team members are expected to work from our San Francisco office three full days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely and are expected to be available during agreed working hours and to maintain sufficient overlap with the relevant team’s time zone. We value in-person collaboration, active communication, responsiveness, and close partnership across teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
