We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant

 

Position Overview

The Senior Revenue Accountant is an important position within the Finance Department and must collaborate with our business partners in GL Accounting, Reporting, FP&A, Commercial Operations, Project Finance Management, Legal, Sales Operations, and Business Development. A successful candidate will have technical accounting competence and experience, contract review, compliance and operational experience. You'll be expected to roll up your sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

 How you will contribute:

  • Own global revenue recognition and reporting for the 3 Business Units including backup to support work.
  • Timely and accurately complete accounting close activities including calculation of services revenue using the percentage completion method, reviewing Term and SaaS licenses deals to ensure they are properly set up in accounting system to facilitate accurate revenue recognition, complete complex account reconciliations, execution of monthly controls and assist with month-end executive reporting package. 
  • Analyze monthly revenue transactions to evaluate data integrity and ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC606 and US GAAP
  • Review customer contracts to ensure they are set up properly for revenue recognition and are billed in accordance with the contract terms.
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements, as needed.
  • Provide data for external auditors in year-end and interim audit related to invoicing and revenue recognition.
  • Perform multiple tasks and ad hoc projects assigned.
  • Drive continuous development of tools to drive efficiency and promote scalability as it relates to issue identification and resolution in day-to-day operations of internal reporting
  • Opportunities to participate in Finance & Accounting shared projects
  • Opportunities to collaborate and support efforts in other areas of business
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required with 5 - 8 years of related work experience. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, change direction quickly and prioritize workload
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of ASC 606, ideally in Project Based Services, will be a plus.
  • CRO industry experience will be a plus
  • Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
