What you will do

As a Senior Retailer Strategy Manager, you will lead the development of differentiated omni channel, including e-commerce, and customer strategies to achieve business goals and financial targets for an assigned portfolio. You will bring the voice of the customer into planning and execution, turn insights into commercial recommendations, and partner across functions to deliver category growth and successful innovation launches.

Key Responsibilities:

Be the voice of the customer in the monthly integrated business planning cycle by converting shopper, category, consumer, retailer, and competitive insights into actionable commercial recommendations.

• Analyze customer POS, share trends, and competitor activity against targets; bring timely customer insights into S&OE and demand-planning forecasts; and lead Retail, Innovation, Strategy and Execution meetings to prioritize deliverables on a 0- to 3-month horizon.

Drive in-year business performance through gap-closure activities, trade-spend ROI opportunities, and post-event analysis across promotional effectiveness, trade investment, pricing, margin, and category growth.

• Lead cross-functional alignment from strategy through execution across Brand, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Category, Customer Service, and Project Management to remove barriers and land execution.

Contribute customer inputs to Portfolio Management Review and new-product planning, including distribution, trade funding, promotional strategy, availability, and execution requirements.

• Lead new-product launch execution plans, including external launch strategies, retailer sell stories, sales enablement materials, launch toolkits, promotional guidance, objection handling, and execution within the Sales organization.

Develop promotional, category-growth, and omnichannel activation plans using trade fundamentals, Revenue Growth Management frameworks, in-store execution, e-commerce fundamentals, digital shelf, retail media, and Joint Business Planning support.

• Translate brand and category priorities into customer-specific annual plans, Sales toolkits, customer sell-in materials, Trade Fundamentals, and Go-To-Market strategies.

What we are looking for

• Strong understanding of consumer sales, channels, Canadian retailers, trade fundamentals, promotional planning, pricing, margin, and ROI principles.

Knowledge of or experience in forecasting and/or monthly volume reporting and analysis.

Demonstrated ability to develop customer-facing presentations, sell stories, launch materials, and Sales enablement tools.

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to present sophisticated information concisely and effectively.

• Strong project-management, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

• Proven ability to influence multiple levels and functions within and across the organization.

Valid G driver's license.

Desired Qualifications

Proficiency with NIQ, Numerator, Tableau, Power BI, syndicated data, customer portals, or other visualization tools.

• Trade-promotion, pricing, or commercial-finance acumen, including experience with trade investment, promotional ROI, margin, pricing, and/or P&L implications.

Experience developing customer-facing sell stories for retailer line reviews, innovation sell-in, Joint Business Planning, and category-growth recommendations.

• Experience with e-commerce fundamentals, retail media, digital-shelf metrics, online merchandising, or omnichannel activation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
