The Senior Retail Experience Designer will create retail fixtures and environments, collaborating with teams and vendors to ensure brand alignment and high-quality execution.
WHOOP is seeking a Senior Retail Experience Designer to help shape how our brand comes to life in the physical world. This role sits at the intersection of industrial design, spatial storytelling, and brand experience, creating environments that communicate WHOOP’s commitment to performance, precision, and design excellence.
You’ll design and develop retail fixtures, display systems, and in-store experiences that express WHOOP’s premium aesthetic while maintaining technical rigor and scalability. From concept through installation, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external fabrication partners to deliver environments that feel elevated, human, and unmistakably WHOOP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop fixtures, merchandising systems, and retail environments that translate WHOOP’s brand into spatial experiences.
- Produce concept sketches, 3D renderings, and detailed technical drawings to communicate vision, guide fabrication and installation.
- Partner with fixture agencies and fabrication vendors to engineer, prototype, and mass-produce designs at a high standard of quality.
- Collaborate with Brand Design, Marketing, Retail Operations, and Engineering to ensure alignment of function, aesthetics, and storytelling.
- Contribute to the design of new store formats, pop-ups, and partner installations — ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Maintain a hands-on approach through design development, sampling, and on-site installation reviews to uphold creative integrity.
- Travel occasionally for market visits, retailer visits, and other site-specific reviews and evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5–10 years of experience in retail fixture and experiential design, ideally within a premium or performance-focused brand.
- Proven ability to bring fixtures and environments from concept through fabrication and rollout.
- Deep understanding of materials, finishes, lighting, and engineering details that convey a refined, technical aesthetic.
- Experience working with fixture vendors, global fabricators, and installation partners.
- Proficiency in 3D design tools (Revit, SolidWorks, Rhino, or SketchUp) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across creative, operations, and leadership teams.
- A portfolio that reflects craftsmanship, design excellence, and a clear sense of brand expression through experience driven design.
