The Senior Research Scientist participates in research study design, analysis and interpretation of results, with special emphasis on statistical and analytical plan development; data acquisition, preparation, and management; statistical analysis and interpretation of findings. The Senior Research Scientist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Research Scientist will lead identification, evaluation and development of opportunities that optimize home health delivery, lower medical cost while improving patient health outcomes, through applying mathematical, statistical, and data science methods. The Senior Research Scientist will also partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to identify, prioritize and measure the impact of core and novel solutions to significant problems in home health.

         

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with strategy to evaluate existing programs and identify and measure new solutions to impact home health.
  • Leverage a wide range of analytics methods ranging from descriptive to prescriptive to transform high volumes of complex data into analytics solutions and actional insights
  • Collaborate with clinicians and clinical to define various clinical concepts and extract clinical information for analytics and modeling purposes
  • Translates analytic results into key takeaways and make recommendations to business partners
  • Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 or more years of technical experience
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Python or SQL experience
  • Able to dive deep into data to uncover insights as well as the root causes of issues
  • Advanced knowledge of data, modeling, and optimization tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Power BI experience
  • SAS experience
  • Subject matter expertise of healthcare data (specifically home health)

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$94,900 - $130,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
