Job Overview

The Senior Content Strategy Manager will play a critical role in generating insights and key assets that form the foundation of Coursera's learning content strategy, with a focus on Software (Software Dev, Web Dev, and  Mobile Dev,) + Product (UX Design and Tech Product Mgt) and IT (Cybersecurity, IT Support & Ops, Cloud Computing, Computer Systems Eng + Arch, IT Management, Network Eng + Arch). 

As a strategic, data-driven, and entrepreneurial individual, you will leverage your extensive research and analysis skills to produce competitive analyses, gaps analysis of Coursera’s catalog, and research on emerging and trending skills in the Software + Product and IT domains. You will identify key industry trends to inform our content roadmap, and conduct in-depth research to analyze potential subject matter experts (SMEs) and catalogs to ensure our offerings are comprehensive and aligned with market demand. You will collaborate closely with the broader Content Strategy team and work cross-functionally with teams including marketing, sales, and partnerships to influence strategic decision-making and ensure Coursera's Software + Product and IT offerings remain at the forefront of the industry, ultimately supporting the company's mission of providing universal access to world-class learning.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to generate insights and key assets that inform Coursera's learning content strategy, focusing on topics in the Software + Product and IT domains
  • Produce competitive analyses, gap analysis of Coursera’s content catalog, and research on emerging and trending skills to ensure comprehensive coverage of in-demand topics on the Coursera platform
  • Create market intelligence briefs on specific content areas in which Coursera is investing, providing an analytical and data-driven foundation for content strategy decisions, and informing partners and content production teams about market demand for content
  • Build and deploy automated research workflows using Python, APIs, and LLMs to synthesize large-scale structured and unstructured data (e.g., job postings, industry reports, forum discussions) into actionable insights at speed.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify valuable assets to create and develop strategies for socializing and influencing cross-functional teams based on research findings
  • Identify subject matter experts (SMEs) and conduct catalog research to ensure Coursera's offerings are comprehensive, up-to-date, and aligned with industry trends

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or other tech-related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer, technical consultant, solutions architect, technical program manager / product manager, or job roles requiring knowledge of Computer Science & Tech
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis or research, using technical tools such as Excel, Python, and SQL
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to leverage LLMs and AI Tools, to automate and analyze  large datasets to generate insights at scale
  • Prior experience in a consulting or analytical/research capacity with proven track record of strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or other tech-related discipline
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work agilely in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience creating AI agents or working with agentic AI systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Familiarity with the APAC region, including experience conducting research or working in this market
  • Prior experience with EdTech or online learning platforms
  • Experience analyzing and curating tech content catalogs

US Zone 1 - San Francisco Metro, New York City Metro or Seattle Metro

This role is not available in Zone 1


US Zone 2 - CA (outside of SF Bay Area), CO, CT, DC, GA, IL, MA, MD, NY/NJ (other than NYC), OR, RI, TX, VA, WA (other than Seattle)

$134,000 - $158,000 USD


US Zone 3 - all other US locations

$126,650 - $149,000 USD

The range(s) listed above is the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.

Salary is just one component of Coursera’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for a bonus program and equity in the form of RSU’s.

A number of factors are taken into account when determining pay, which includes: job level, location, training/education, business need, skill set and internal equity.
