We're a remote-first company, but we believe people should be able to work where they can be most productive. Currently, we can employ in the United States and Canada. We also have offices in Los Angeles and Seattle for those interested in hybrid or full-time office work.
As a Senior Release Manager, you'll be a critical component of operating our live service game. You will partner closely with developers like design, QA, engineering, and more to ensure an organized and timely release process. You will own the live release process through its entire lifecycle, including serving as the primary point of contact for our first party partners and managing hot fixes as necessary. As the Release Management owner, you will find ways to optimize, organize, and improve the overall release experience for the studio. In this role, you will work closely with our leadership team to ensure we create the best launch experiences for our players possible.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and communicating release streams based on the project's schedule.
- Collaborating with developers to ensure that shipping content is ready and enabling content lockdown.
- Own and coordinate the process required to create a shippable build, including bug tracking and triage.
- Creating and validating release candidate builds and compiling release notes.
- Own the process and organization of submitting a build for certification and publishing it to live. This includes managing the certification schedule, negotiating certification dates, rapid patching, and more.
- Using established processes and tools to upload the appropriate release build to all platform backends.
- Act as the primary point of contact for coordinating hotfixes after a build has shipped, working closely with internal developers, QA, and community managers to stay informed of player concerns.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience within the games industry with at least 5 years in a release management or similar role.
- Experience in a similar role shipping at least one multiplatform title, preferably with a live service component.
- Expertise in platform release processes and first-party requirements.
- Deep expertise in game development pipelines and best practices for launch readiness.
- Expert in JIRA and Confluence, with the ability to navigate Perforce and GitHub.
- Exceptional communication and organization skills.
Nice to Haves
- Previous experience in QA or Engineering.
- Ability to script, with an interest in improving internal tools in relevant areas.
Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries, an annual bonus, and royalties. For this specific role, the base salary range is $120,000 to $160,000 (USD) with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
