The Privacy Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for leading and driving complex regulatory and compliance initiatives with a specialized emphasis on privacy laws and data protection regulations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a culture of compliance and reducing enterprise risk related to noncompliance with federal and state privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, CCPA, and other applicable healthcare data protection standards. 

This position is responsible for monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, assessing their impact on business operations, and leading and supporting the implementation of privacy compliance initiatives. As a subject matter expert, the Sr. Analyst provides strategic guidance to internal stakeholders, provides privacy risk assessments, collaborates cross-functionally to strengthen the organization’s privacy posture. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of healthcare privacy regulations, has strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, and the ability to translate business processes and needs into technical solutions designed to protect data.

Responsibilities
  • Project manage team and departmental initiatives to improve privacy program processes, create efficiencies, and support enterprise strategic goals.
  • Effectively report on privacy compliance performance, risks, and key performance indicators to key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with legal, cybersecurity, data governance, IT and business partners to implement and maintain privacy compliance requirements, processes, and controls.
  • Enhance the privacy posture of the organization by leading and managing privacy compliance initiatives and projects.
  • Establish a privacy by design program to integrate privacy principles into products and services to ensure data use meets established compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a contributor to client due diligence questionnaires, RFPs, and other privacy related inquiries regarding the organization’s privacy program.
  • Provide privacy guidance and recommendations to business partners on privacy-related matters, including data handling and consent management.
  • Serve as a contact for Business Associate Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, Information Security Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements,  and other privacy and confidentiality contract provision reviews.
  • Develop and maintain privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior staff to support their development and contribute to a more robust and agile Privacy program.
Qualifications
  • 4 or more years healthcare work experience w/ Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • CIPP, CHC, cybersecurity, or other related privacy and security certifications preferred.
  • Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in health insurance or healthcare privacy compliance.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize and track projects in an agile environment and provide executive level status updates.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess organizational impact and implementation options for privacy and security regulations. 
  • Experience with privacy management tools and platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with natural curiosity to expedite independent learning and proactively identify opportunities for privacy program improvements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of US privacy laws and regulations.
  • Comfortable working in gray areas and navigating ambiguities.
  • Ability to collaborate, mobilize others, and influence without authority by building trust and communicating effectively.
  • Ability to adopt, use, and recommend new technology and AI tools to improve business processes and privacy program maturity.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. 
Pay Grade 20. $71,400 - $149,500 Nationally, actual pay may vary.
