About Us

Proton is building the AI infrastructure for wholesale distribution, embedded in the workflows that move nearly every physical product on the planet. Distribution is a $9 trillion industry, and the software that runs it has been stuck in the past for decades — most tools create more work than they eliminate. We unify CRM, PIM, eCommerce AI, and Order & Quote Entry AI into one platform with one data layer and one AI brain, so reps spend their time deepening customer relationships, not entering data.

We hire people with high agency and high urgency. At Proton, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and ships AI-native software faster than anyone else in the category.

The median Proton customer reports 3x profit return per dollar spent, an extra day of sales per rep per month, and “the best ROI of any tech investment in 30 years.” Hundreds of leading distributors — from family-owned shops to publicly-traded enterprises across industrial, HVAC, and electrical — run on Proton. We’re backed by Felicis Ventures (Twitch, Shopify, Opendoor) and Battery Ventures.

If you want to build the brand and the content engine that shape how trillions of dollars of physical goods move through the economy, Proton is the place to do it.

The Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Recruiter to drive our hiring strategy and recruiting execution. This hybrid role in Cambridge, MA reports directly to the Head of Finance and Strategy and is ideal for an experienced recruiter who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

You will own full-cycle recruiting for high-priority roles, lead employer branding initiatives, manage our ATS, and oversee recruiting events—all while creating a world-class candidate experience. This role is high-impact: you’ll be instrumental in shaping Proton’s growth and talent foundation.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for critical roles across Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Partner with leadership to forecast hiring needs and create strategic hiring plans aligned to growth.
  • Manage Proton’s overall recruiting strategy, including employer branding, recruiting events, and leveraging diverse sourcing methods to proactively attract top talent.
  • Manage and optimize Greenhouse ATS, ensuring accurate data, reporting, and efficient workflows.
  • Continuously improve recruiting processes and candidate experience with data-driven best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leadership on talent market insights, compensation benchmarking, and scaling strategies.
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics to leadership, using data to inform decision-making.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You
  • Have 2–5+ years of recruiting experience in high-growth SaaS or startup environments.
  • Thrive in creating structure out of ambiguity, and enjoy owning both strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Have a track record of hiring across technical and non-technical roles.
  • Are data-driven, organized, and passionate about delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Enjoy building community through employer branding and recruiting events.
  • Bring ATS experience and a focus on process optimization.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $120,000 OTE
  • Competitive stock options—we want you to feel like an owner.
  • Unlimited PTO + 10 Company Paid Holidays.
  • 401k with Employer Contribution (US only).
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance—Proton covers 100% of one medical plan in the U.S. and 50% for dependents.
  • 12 Weeks Fully Paid Parental Leave for all caregivers.
  • Company-paid off-sites to collaborate and celebrate together.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
