Pet Food Express is looking for a Sr Recruiter & HR Generalist (Internally titled Sr Recruiter & HR Projects Lead) strong full-cycle recruiter with a passion for improving systems, streamlining workflows, and bringing big ideas to life. Reporting to the HR Manager, Employee Experience, you’ll own store talent acquisition and support various HR functions as needed including employee relations and onboarding. You'll also lean heavily into project management and collaborate with a small but mighty HR team to plan and execute key initiatives from start to finish that elevate the HR department and employee experience. Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
- Own full-cycle retail recruiting and various roles across the organization from sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, to onboarding coordination.
- Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline and deliver consistent, high-quality candidate experience.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, develop interview processes, and make data-informed hiring decisions
- Track and report on key recruiting metrics including time to fill and offer acceptance rates
- Support core HR functions: new hire orientation, employee newsletter, education, LOA/Accommodations management, and employee relations.
- Manage shared HR platforms like HelpScout, SharePoint, OneDrive, PayFactors, and PerformYard to maximize department productivity and organization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including SOPs, schedules, and reports.
- Create and maintain dashboards to report on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, time to fill).
- Work closely with senior HR leaders to translate high-level ideas into executable projects.
- Coordinate with HR teammates and stakeholders to ensure alignment with department goal and complete tasks as assigned.
- Share process knowledge, and provide informal training and coaching to HR team members to support the team's growth and development of new skills
- Execute long-term HR project management plans related to HR initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and employee adoption.
- Identify process bottlenecks, propose solutions, and execute fixes directly.
- Track and communicate project progress, potential issues, and outcomes to senior HR leaders.
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with additional exposure to HR operations, project coordination, or process improvement.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, comfortable being a self-starter and change agent.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking, high sense of urgency, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience with HR systems and platforms (ATS, HRIS, document management tools).
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
