This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior GTM Recruiter to join our North America Talent Acquisition team in San Francisco.

As a Senior Recruiter, you will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders — combining deep expertise in identifying complex enterprise talent with a track record of proactively sourcing hard-to-reach, passive candidates. Your primary focus will be owning commercial hiring across Account Management, Partnerships, and Marketing, but your versatility allows you to quickly master new markets and support non-GTM roles as priorities shift. We want a recruiter who builds high-performing teams, challenges assumptions with market data, and empowers leaders to make better hiring decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Own Full-Cycle Recruiting Across GTM: Lead hiring across key commercial functions with a focus on quality, urgency, and candidate experience.
  • Proactive Sourcing: Build deep pipelines of passive commercial talent rather than relying primarily on inbound candidates.
  • Market Intelligence: Map relevant talent markets and provide insight on competitor organizations, candidate availability, compensation, location, and market dynamics.
  • Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted partner to hiring managers—knowing when to challenge, when to influence, and when to align and move.
  • Data-Driven Recruitment: Use funnel data and recruiting insights to identify issues early and recommend practical solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner across Recruiting, People, Compensation, and the broader business to solve hiring challenges.
  • Team Enablement: Contribute beyond your own requisitions by mentoring others, sharing market expertise, and improving how we work.

Who You Are

  • Experience: You bring 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably within high-growth technology, fintech, or payments.
  • Versatility: You have successfully recruited across multiple business domains and can flex between GTM, Legal, Compliance, and HR roles.
  • Stakeholder Management: You can quickly learn a new business, product, or talent segment, translate that into an effective strategy, and build credibility quickly with senior leaders.
  • Market Mapping & Data: You are an exceptional sourcer who uses data and market intelligence to shape strategy, influence stakeholders, and make better decisions.
  • Communication & Adaptability: You communicate clearly and directly (even in difficult conversations), challenge constructively without friction, and remain adaptable and low-ego.
  • High Bar: You care deeply about candidate experience, maintain high professionalism, and are energized by ambiguity in fast-moving environments.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
