We're looking for a Senior React Native Software Engineer who has built and maintained large-scale, consumer-facing mobile applications. This role requires deep React Native expertise, strong native iOS knowledge, and an engineering-first mindset focused on quality, scalability, testing, and long-term maintainability.
Position SummaryAs a senior member of our Engineering team, you'll own the development of high-quality React Native applications across iOS and Android. Beyond building features, you'll improve architecture, lead React Native upgrades, resolve complex native issues, and help shape engineering standards across our mobile platform.
You'll work within one of inKind's product pods alongside Product Managers, Designers, QA, Backend Engineers, and fellow Mobile Engineers to deliver customer-facing features used at scale.
This is not a UI-focused React Native role—we're looking for an engineer who understands the full mobile stack, writes production-quality code, owns testing, and is comfortable debugging native platforms when required.
What You'll OwnReact Native Engineering- Design, build, and maintain high-performance React Native applications.
- Deliver scalable, maintainable TypeScript code following engineering best practices.
- Improve application architecture, performance, reliability, and developer experience.
- Own React Native version upgrades, dependency management, and framework migrations.
- Build, maintain, and debug native iOS modules using Swift and Kotlin
- Integrate native platform APIs into React Native applications.
- Diagnose and resolve native dependency issues and bridge failures.
- Partner with Android engineers on native integrations when required.
- Own automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Build reliable CI/CD pipelines that prevent regressions before release.
- Champion code quality through reviews, mentoring, and engineering standards.
- Reduce technical debt while improving long-term maintainability.
- Develop systematic testing strategies across Android devices, screen sizes, and OS versions.
- Improve release stability through automation, monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Optimize performance, memory usage, rendering, and application responsiveness.
- Investigate production issues using structured debugging techniques.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and QA within a cross-functional pod.
- Help define technical solutions during product discovery.
- Contribute to architecture discussions across Engineering.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across pods.
- 6+ years building production React Native applications.
- Experience supporting large-scale, consumer-facing mobile apps with significant production usage.
- Experience working within established engineering organizations (typically 50+ employees with mature engineering processes including code reviews, CI/CD, and structured release management).
- Expert knowledge of React Native architecture and performance optimization.
- Strong TypeScript experience.
- Strong Swift experience with the ability to build and debug native modules and bridges.
- Kotlin or Android native development experience.
- Experience managing React Native version upgrades, dependency updates, and native package compatibility.
- Experience using tools such as patch-package and resolving native library conflicts.
- Strong understanding of React state management including Redux, React Query, Zustand, or Context.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites using Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox, or equivalent.
- Experience working with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, and Postman.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using AI development tools while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
- Experience building custom native bridges.
- Experience publishing and supporting apps through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Experience supporting applications with hundreds of thousands or millions of users.
- Experience with monitoring and crash reporting tools such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.
- Leading React Native upgrades with minimal disruption to production.
- Writing reliable, well-tested code with high automated test coverage.
- Confidently debugging native iOS and Android issues without relying on third-party support.
- Building mobile experiences that perform consistently across a broad range of Android devices and screen sizes.
- Raising engineering standards through architecture, testing, code reviews, and mentorship.
- Delivering high-quality features quickly while maintaining long-term maintainability.
Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 DOE
