About the role
We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join a high-impact product team building and scaling real-world mobile applications used by active users.
This is not a ticket-execution role.
We are looking for someone who:
- Thinks like a product engineer
- Owns features end-to-end
- Understands performance, UX, and real-world constraints
- Can operate with autonomy and technical judgment
You’ll be working on a production mobile platform, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality experiences.
There is a strong preference for candidates based in Chicago or open to regular in-person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and scale mobile applications using React Native
- Own features from concept → development → production
- Optimize performance, responsiveness, and user experience
- Collaborate with product and design on user-facing features
- Work across APIs, integrations, and backend services when needed
- Contribute to architectural decisions and code quality
- Leverage modern tools (including AI) to improve development efficiency
Must Have:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience with React Native in production
- Proven experience building and shipping mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)
- Deep understanding of mobile performance, animations, and UX
- Experience working with APIs and backend integrations
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of features
- Based in Chicago, or open to frequent travel for in-person collaboration
Nice to Have:
- Experience with React, Node.js, or full-stack environments
- Experience optimizing mobile performance at scale
- Exposure to AI tools, automation, or modern development workflows
- Experience mentoring other engineers
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
What we value:
- Engineers who ship, not just discuss
- Strong product thinking and user focus
- Ability to balance speed and quality
- Clear communication and an ownership mindset
- Comfort working in evolving, fast-moving environments
Come join us in breaking the mold and revolutionizing the tech landscape!
