We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join the HQ Automation division and our AI/LLM Team, which focuses on developing automation solutions to improve the efficiency of our Customer Service teams using modern technologies.

The AI/LLM Team develops solutions on top of our CRM/ERP platform, contributes to building AI/LLM models, develops its own services, and extends the functionality of the Camunda orchestration platform to achieve its goals.

Our CRM/ERP platform is built with Python (Django/Aiohttp/RQ). The primary database is PostgreSQL, while Elasticsearch is used for fast search across system objects. The frontend is built with React.js, and Camunda runs on-premises on our own infrastructure.

Join us to work with a great team on developing and implementing effective and exciting solutions using modern technologies, helping provide people around the world with the best possible travel experience — and getting plenty of positive feedback along the way!

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Developer:
  • Backend development of the CRM/ERP product using Python, primarily with the Django framework;
  • Working with Camunda, including supporting its infrastructure;
  • Integrating with LLM models and developing and maintaining services for working with them;
  • Designing service architecture, making technical decisions, decomposing and estimating tasks, and participating in the Code Review process;
  • Consulting with System Analysis, QA, and Technical Support teams;
  • Managing development projects within the stream and coordinating team resources to achieve project goals.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, including experience in a Senior Developer role.

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of Python development experience with Django or FastAPI;
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and the ability to write raw SQL queries;
  • Experience designing APIs and integrations;
  • Experience working with high-load systems and large databases;
  • Good understanding of GitFlow and CI/CD processes, including Docker and Kubernetes;
  • English proficiency at B1 (Intermediate) or above, including spoken English.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Camunda and pyzeebe;
  • Experience working with AI/LLM models and an understanding of how they work.

Benefits
  • Flexible schedules and opportunity to work remotely.
  • Ambitious and supportive team who love what they do, appreciate each other, and grow together.
  • Internal programs for adaptation and training, development of soft skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Partial compensation for participating in external training and conferences.
  • Corporate English school: Group and individual lessons, speaking clubs with colleagues from all over the world.
  • Corporate prices on hotels and travel services.
  • MyTime Day Off - an extra non-working day without loss of compensation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
