The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned expert in the digital advertising ecosystem to join our Publisher Support Engineering team. This is not a typical support role; it's a high-impact, technical position for someone who lives and breathes programmatic advertising.
The ideal candidate is a master of troubleshooting and optimizing a publisher’s wrapper implementation. You understand the intricacies of header bidding, auction dynamics, and the publisher-side ad tech landscape. Naturally curious, you are a lifelong learner who thrives on tackling unique challenges and finding elegant solutions where others see roadblocks.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Associate Director of Publisher Support Engineering, you will serve as the technical authority for our publisher partners, ensuring their ad implementations are flawlessly executed, highly performant, and maximally profitable.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for diagnosing and resolving complex ad implementation issues, from subtle rendering discrepancies to core revenue-impacting problems.
- Architect and implement custom JavaScript and CSS solutions to optimize ad layouts, improve viewability, and enhance user experience without compromising site performance (Core Web Vitals).
- Own the technical lifecycle of publisher onboarding and complex integration projects, ensuring flawless execution, rigorous QA, and rapid time-to-revenue.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME), partnering directly with publishers and internal teams (Customer Success, Yield, Product, Engineering) to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Core Ad Technology Expertise:
- Deep, hands-on expertise with header bidding, specifically with Prebid.js and GPT.js. You can confidently debug bid requests/responses, resolve layout issues, troubleshoot timeouts, and understand wrapper architecture.
- Mastery of Google Ad Manager (GAM), including advanced targeting with key-values, delivery troubleshooting, unified pricing rules, and flooring.
- Holistic understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including the roles of SSPs, DSPs, and the mechanics of the ad auction from impression to render.
- Proven ability to debug live ad environments using a full suite of tools, including Chrome Developer Tools (Network/Console), ad debugging extensions.
Additional Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a technical ad operations or solutions engineering role.
- Strong proficiency in frontend web technologies, including vanilla JavaScript and HTML/CSS. A solid understanding of how ads interact with SPA frameworks (like React) is essential.
- A relentless problem-solver with a deep sense of curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-evolving industry.
- 2+ years of experience querying and analyzing data using SQL.
- A strategic mindset with a firm grasp of the supply-side business, balancing revenue optimization and user experience.
- Exceptional communication and consultative skills; you can confidently lead technical calls with clients and collaborate effectively with non-technical internal teams.
