In this role you will be responsible for developing new propulsion system architectures. You will lead a cross functional team in the development of Electrified Propulsion System Architectures through the Advanced Technology Work (ATW) development phase in accordance with the Electrification Process of Engineering . After assessing your designs for technology capability, you will continue hardware development in the Balanced Architecture (BA) phase until the program is handed off to execution teams. We are seeking an engineer who works collaboratively with others and is comfortable with ambiguity. The main focus of this role is the Balanced Architecture phase.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Balance vehicle and propulsion system hardware requirements
- Ensure requirements and hardware technology align with customer expectations by collaborating with engineers from vehicle, battery, drive unit, and motor teams.
- Develop the propulsion system to meet key performance and cost targets by working collaboratively VDDV, Cost Engineering and Planning
- Ensure analytical models, initial component designs and controls of key electrification systems and components have been developed with high fidelity.
- Lead component or system trade studies to select optimized solutions to meet vehicle requirements of range, performance, drive quality, and cost.
- Engage with other SMT's, Vehicle teams, Planning, Finance, and Electrification leadership as necessary to lead the project team through successful completion of key ATW and BA gates.
- Continuously benchmark automotive and other industries to identify and implement innovative technologies for electric vehicles.
- Protect intellectual property (IP) by documenting your new ideas for invention board review and subsequent patent submissions.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in product engineering.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems and define a tangible approach to identify optimal solutions.
- Showcase a wide range of creativity and latitude on challenging assignments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, project management and negotiating skills.
- DFSS Black Belt

- Master's degree in engineering or relevant field.
- 8+ years of experience in electrification engineering.
