SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, MARKET RESEARCH OPERATIONS

Overview:

We are seeking a high-performing, proactive, experienced, and meticulous SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, MARKET RESEARCH OPERATIONS specialist, to lead the operational execution of our market research projects. This person will be the go-to expert for all things related to project operations within the Market Research & Insights division. This role is essential in making sure all components are flawlessly prepared, accurate, and delivered on time to support impactful client work.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment, enjoys building structure, and takes pride in being the engine behind great work.

What You will Be Responsible For:

  • Lead all operational aspects of qualitative and quantitative research projects – from kickoff to final delivery.

  • Oversee end-to-end project management and operations, including timelines, budgets, vendor and sample management, survey testing, data collection, and delivery of final clean files to the research team.

  • Create and validate cost calculators, pricing tools, and project trackers with precision.

  • Identify risks and roadblocks early and propose solutions.

  • Serve as the operational point person for both internal teams and external partners – keeping communication clear and timelines tight.

  • Flag risks proactively, problem-solve quickly, and keep projects on track with minimal oversight.

  • For ‘recruit-only’ projects (e.g., conference research), function as the central hub between client, recruiter, and internal stakeholders – ensuring smooth execution and professional delivery on all fronts.

  • Maintain clear documentation and version control throughout each project lifecycle.

What You Must Bring:

  • 5+ years of solid, direct experience in project and operations management within a market research company or division (healthcare, pharma experience preferred).

  • Proven ability to independently manage a spectrum of easy to complex projects with accuracy and accountability.

  • Demonstrated success in creating and maintaining calculators, trackers, and bid tools.

  • Strong communication skills – you are clear, concise, and responsive with both internal teams and vendors.

  • Ability to analyze scope documents and vendor bids critically and flag inconsistencies before they become issues.

  • Deep understanding of market research workflows, timelines, and project dependencies.

  • Comfort with feedback, willingness to grow, and a mindset focused on quality and collaboration.

Who You Are:

You are someone who takes pride in being the operational expert others rely on. You are confident in your craft, calm under pressure, and thoughtful in your execution.

  • You are experienced and confident managing your responsibilities with minimal oversight.

  • You value organization, accuracy, and clarity – and you are someone others trust to get things right.

  • You are a natural collaborator, someone who keeps everyone informed and projects moving forward smoothly.

  • You love the satisfaction of turning a chaotic to-do list into a well-oiled workflow.

  • You are ready to own this space and be the steady, strategic force our team needs to deliver great work.

Bonus Points For:

  • Comfortable with using tools and platforms like Workfront, Excel, Zoom, Decipher, Confirmit, Google Forms, etc.

  • Understanding of compliance protocols (e.g., HIPAA, Sunshine Act Reporting, Adverse Events Reporting, GDPR).

  • Strong organizational documentation and cross-functional coordination experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
