Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Senior Project Engineers - Service Related Problems (SRP) to join our team in Seal Beach, California.

This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex in-service issues, referred to as Service Related Problems (SRP). As a member of the BCA Customer Support organization, your mission will be to lead cross-organizational teams in achieving timely and high-quality resolutions for safety and critical economic issues affecting the Fleet. In this position, you will have the opportunity to address systems, structures, and operational challenges across the entire aircraft, while also engaging with customers, suppliers, expert engineers, and leadership throughout Boeing. 

These positions will support any of the Fleet Chief Offices, including Out of Production (OoP), 737, 747, 767, 777, and 787. The selected candidates will be assigned to a specific role within one of these Fleet Chief Offices.

Position Responsibilities:            

  • Provided technical leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers
  • Develops Statement of Work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements
  • Builds and actively manages integrated project schedules on multiple projects using project/program management best practices
  • Present to internal and external customers as needed to gain advocacy, authority to proceed, and/or share progress.
  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
  • Identifies and manages to business performance metrics and targets
  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
  • Defines plans for risk/issue mitigation and opportunity capture
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):           

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 9 or more years' related work experience
  • 5+ year(s) experience leading/managing technical projects (Level 4)
  • 5+ year(s) experience leading cross functional teams or projects (Level 4)
  • Must be willing to support occasional non-standard working hours as needed to engage with global customers or stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 14 or more years' related work experience
  • 7+ years’ experience leading/managing technical projects (Level 5)
  • 7+ years’ experience leading cross functional teams or projects (Level 5)
  • Project Management Certification (ex. PMP)
  • Experience building and managing to integrated project plans, schedules and/or budgets
  • Experience working with commercial airplane systems or structures disciplines within design, maintenance or service engineering

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range (Level 4): $138,550 - $187,450

Summary Pay Range (Level 5): $166,750 - $224,250
