Aypa Power is seeking a Senior Project Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to oversee day-to-day project accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. This role will manage accounting for multiple areas, including construction costs, prepaid assets, fixed assets, CIP, accruals, and leases across the company’s projects.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for your areas of responsibility.

 Responsibilities:

  • Own specific areas of the general ledger, including the preparation and posting of journal entries and performing monthly account reconciliations;
  • Drive monthly close process, including working independently and with team members to meet all targets and timelines;
  • Prepare documentation and assist in interim and year end external audits;
  • Understand and review owner contract for accounting related tasks & responsibilities;
  • Lead the monthly draw process for assigned projects under construction;
  • Meet month end and quarterly deadlines;
  • Perform cost coding and review the accuracy of vendor and subcontractor invoices;
  • Complete assigned month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of journal entries and respective account reconciliations;
  • Process job cost accruals;
  • Assist with applied and unapplied payments for receivables;
  • Adhere to all financial deadlines, including month-end and quarterly reporting;
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience (renewable energy or construction accounting preferred);
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and integrated accounting systems;
  • Strong understanding of accounting procedures and principles;
  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to organize work and handle multiple projects;
  • Ability to instruct and review the work of team members and provide assistance;
  • Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization;
  • Curiosity, high energy, and commitment to personal development and team success;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Location:

Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience;
Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business;
Benefits: Aypa offers an attractive benefits package with excellent health care/dental/vision, 401k matching, unlimited vacation, paid parental leave, and other health/wellness benefits;
Location: Ability to work in the United States and travel to Canada is a requirement. Preference for Austin, TX, but the workplace location is flexible, provided the candidate can travel as required;
Travel: Candidate must be willing to travel 0-5% per year.
