Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we're on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We're a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software. We move fast, we're not afraid to fail, and we believe the best ideas can come from anywhere—whether you're in engineering, sales, product, or operations. If you want to work on something that truly matters, with people who care deeply about the impact we're making and help shape the future of an industry that's just getting started, you're in the right place.

What You’ll Be Launching

As a Senior Program Manager within the Program Management Office, you will lead complex, cross-functional programs that support Slingshot’s growing portfolio of government and strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for delivering programs on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and long-term partnership success.

You will serve as the accountable program lead, partnering closely with Business Development, Engineering, Product, Finance, and executive stakeholders to manage program scope, milestones, financial performance, risk, and reporting. You will guide a matrixed team assigned to your programs and ensure coordination across internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

This is a remote position supporting U.S. Government programs.

We're building a team of sharp, creative people who love solving hard problems. We value curiosity over ego, initiative over waiting for permission, and people who genuinely care about doing great work. Bring your expertise, your fresh ideas, and your drive—we'll bring the rocket fuel.

Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)

  • Execute all responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s mission, purpose, and values
  • Lead end-to-end execution of assigned programs, including scope definition, schedule management, resource planning, financial oversight, and risk mitigation
  • Own program financial performance, including forecasting, margin management, and revenue tracking
  • Develop and manage detailed program plans, milestones, deliverables, and reporting structures
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout all phases of execution
  • Drive accountability across matrixed teams including Engineering, Product, Business Development, Finance, and external partners
  • Prepare and present program reviews, financial updates, and executive-level briefings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor contract execution to ensure alignment with negotiated scope while identifying growth or optimization opportunities
  • Manage customer, prime contractor, subcontractor, and partner relationships to maintain strong, trusted partnerships
  • Support capture and proposal efforts by contributing execution strategies, cost modeling inputs, risk assessments, and performance frameworks
  • Identify systemic process improvements and contribute to PMO best practices
  • Communicate evolving customer needs and strategic insights to internal stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Pre-flight Checklist

  • Active TS/SCI United States government security clearance and ability to maintain clearance
  • United States citizenship required
  • 15+ years of experience in Program Management, Account Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience executing contracts with the Federal Government
  • 5+ years of experience supporting business development or capture activities, including proposal development, cost modeling, account execution strategy, and performance metric development
  • Experience working with the United States Department of Defense, United States Space Force, United States Air Force, or related government organizations
  • Demonstrated expertise applying program management methodologies to achieve cost, schedule, and performance objectives
  • Experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams in a complex technical environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior commercial and government stakeholders
  • Ability to travel within the continental United States up to approximately 25 percent

Bonus Cargo

  • Master’s degree in a business, technical, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • PMP certification
  • Experience executing contracts with Space Systems Command
  • Experience working with software development or multidisciplinary technical teams

We're building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you're mission-ready, send it.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
