Job Description

Nordstrom is looking for a highly motivated, customer-obsessed, and results-driven Sr. Program Manager to support our WMS Implementation – DC Team. This team drives end-to-end execution of a modern, unified technology stack including a Warehouse Management System (WMS), Labor Management System (LMS), and Yard Management System (YMS). The Sr. Program Manager will represent operational core process teams and end users through all phases of this multi-year implementation (Design, Implementation, and Hypercare), managing a complex, high-visibility program with significant impact across the enterprise. You will also own business configuration of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to support your assigned operations area.

The ideal candidate blends operational, strategic, analytical, and collaboration skills with a track record of taking ideas from vision to execution. They bring strong program management expertise, sound decision quality, and effective two-way communication to align cross-functional stakeholders, drive goals and strategies, and navigate tradeoffs. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity, this person embraces change and acts as a steward of the Nordstrom brand – driving growth and taking ownership of end-to-end quality for what's deployed across our network.

  • Represents the day-to-day activities that are required to run a facility; defines how functions should happen ‘on the ground’; understanding tradeoffs required to support the North Star vision.
  • Advocates for the end user experience through all phases of the program; supporting training, documentation, requirements, and change management.
  • Supports business requirements and user acceptance scenarios and assess options for network standardization.
  • Brings open-minded perspective to what and how processes could change to match industry or network standards.
  • Effectively Partner and collaborate: Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with cross functional partners to ensure relevant and successful delivery from ideation to execution. Act as liaison with teams and business stakeholders to ensure program needs are met.
  • Identification and escalation of issues: Identify and capture issues/risks and ensure appropriate information is captured to size the impact and determine next steps for resolution.
  • Insights & Analysis: Gather, interpret, and analyze data to inform decision making that supports program delivery.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
