At BuildOps, we’re building a groundbreaking software solution, purpose-built to support today’s commercial contractor. From helping our customers to manage their service all the way to project management, we’re breaking the mold and building a team that invests in our mission statement. We love driven, self-motivated folks that thrive in fast-paced environments. Could you be our next hire?
As our Senior Program Manager, you will join a well-funded, fast-growing technology startup with the unique opportunity to help build out a critical function for the company. The successful candidate will serve as the operational and strategic right hand to our General Counsel and Head of People. This is a unique opportunity to work across two critical functions at a high-growth, Series C startup. You’ll help design and run the systems that keep both teams focused, aligned, and effective while simultaneously serving as a trusted thought partner to the executive leading them.
This role is part program manager, part strategist, part chief of staff. It’s perfect for someone who creates clarity from ambiguity, loves building structure when it may seem a little chaotic, and gets energy from connecting dots across teams.
This is a hybrid position for candidates currently located in Los Angeles, United States.
Why this role is special:- Dual scope and impact: You’ll work at the intersection of two functions that touch every part of the business, from product to employee lifecycle.
- Right-hand strategic partnership: You’ll sit alongside the General Counsel and Head of People as a sounding board and execution partner, helping them operate at their highest level.
- Biz Ops in a functional context: You’ll bring the rigor and discipline of business operations into Legal and People, ensuring both functions are strategic drivers of growth and not just support centers.
- 6-8+ years of experience in program management, business operations, or related roles in high-growth environments
- Skilled at structuring ambiguity: you can take a fuzzy problem, break it into parts, and design a path forward
- Strong operator and strategist: equally comfortable in the weeds of execution and in the room shaping long-term priorities
- Exceptional communicator who can tailor messages to executives, board members, cross-functional partners, and employees
- Energized by the opportunity to make functions stronger and leaders more effective—you see your success as amplifying theirs
- Build operating systems: Design and run strategy design, planning, and goal-setting across both teams to ensure they’re aligned and focused on company priorities
- Manage leadership forums: Orchestrate agendas, prep, and follow-up for key team meetings and leadership offsites, ensuring discussions drive clarity and action
- Serve as connective tissue: Identify dependencies across People, Legal, and the broader BuildOps team and serve as a trusted liaison to critical partners
- Support executive effectiveness: Help prioritize the leader’s bandwidth and amplify their impact, serving as their proxy, ghost writer, or body double
- Stand up SWAT teams: Build initiatives from the ground up when they don’t have a natural home or owner
