At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.

Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.

About the Team:

Relativity is on a mission to change the way rockets are built and flown, expanding the possibilities for human experience. To do that, we are creating learning & development experiences that expand the possibilities of our own people. We’re looking for a dynamic and detailed oriented Senior Program Manager to lead the elevation and automation of our Orientation and Onboarding processes and overall experience. This person will report to the Head of Talent Development.

About the Role:

In this highly collaborative and strategic role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Relativity’s Orientation and Onboarding Experience! You are strategic in how you design and implement projects & programs, balancing the needs of team members with the demands of the business. You’re a strong collaborator and communicator, comfortable working with individuals at all levels, and across all teams, to create alignment and engagement around the initiatives you develop. You have a deep understanding of adult learning and a passion for fostering team member growth and development. Strong communication skills, project management expertise, and the ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment are key to succeeding in this role as you will impact the business by creating novel, scalable, and sustainable solutions to unique and highly complex challenges in the Orientation and Onboarding space at Relativity.

  • Project Management: Effectively plan, execute, and oversee the overall onboarding processes and experience and various related projects by coordinating resources, managing timelines and budget, and ensuring clear communication among stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure onboarding & orientation not only meets the needs of both new hires and the hiring teams but continues to evolve to the ever-changing needs of the business.
  • Design Comprehensive Onboarding Programs: Develop and implement a holistic onboarding program that includes pre-onboarding, day 1 orientation, and structured 30/60/90-day plans tailored to various roles and teams.
  • Presentation Skills: Effectively lead orientation sessions and present company information. This includes using engaging methods to convey key messages about the organization's culture and values.

About You:

So, who are we looking for? This individual is excited by the opportunity to systematically approach the design, delivery, and tracking of Relativity’s Orientation & Onboarding program – everything from pre-onboarding to year-1 development check-ins. You are a process-driven systems-thinker who is drawn to the interesting complexities of an organization and is driven to establish, develop, and maintain much-needed structure for the Orientation & Onboarding program. You thrive in an environment that is constantly changing and where you're constantly learning and innovating.  At your core, you understand that all people are human, here to do their best work. Your role is to help set new hires up for success and support leaders in building a strong team foundation as Relativity continues to grow!

  • Demonstrated expertise in onboarding program management and execution
  • Facilitation experience and strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record in crafting and implementing long-term strategies that align with and advance organizational goals
  • Proactive problem-solving skills – thrive on experimentation to develop creative and original solutions to complex challenges

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
