The mission of the Innovation Lab is to increase the diagnostic yield of our exome and genome products and reduce the time to diagnosis for patients with undiagnosed hereditary disease. Summary:

We are looking for a driven, experienced, and hands-on Senior Research Program Manager to turn ideas into reality - managing early-stage research projects, validating approaches, and guiding them to scalable production. You will own the project pipeline, bridge the gap between teams, drive execution, and contribute ideas and solutions for what we should pursue next—both strategically and tactically.

  • Program Project Management: Plan, organize, and manage multiple research projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Innovation: Using your expertise in genetics and program management, drive innovation in diagnostic testing, analysis and interpretation through genomic research projects and transfer into the commercial laboratory.
  • Lead cross-functional research initiatives from ideation to production: Manage early-stage projects, validate experimental approaches, and drive scalable implementation by aligning technical teams, prioritizing roadmaps, and ensuring strategic execution.
  • Individual contribution: Contribute to data analytics, genetic interpretation and/or the evaluation of software tools for clinical genomic analysis and research.
  • Budget Management: Maintain budgets for research programs, including financial planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks for genomic research projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Compliance: Ensure all research activities comply with LDT and FDA regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and organizational policies in collaboration with quality department.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including senior leadership, product owners, software developers and lab directors, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress and performance, using metrics and data to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of research processes, SOPs, findings, and outcomes, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Education: Advanced degree (preferably PhD) in a relevant field such as Genetics, Genomics, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in genomic research and/or program management, preferably within the diagnostic, biotech or life sciences industry, 8+ years.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and teams.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of DNA & RNA sequencing technologies, bioinformatics, clinical interpretation of genomic data, and/or regulatory requirements for lab designed tests
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

  • Thorough analysis: We classify variants according to our custom adaptation of the most recent guidelines. We then leverage our rich internal database for additional interpretation evidence.
  • Customized care: Our experts review all test results and write reports in a clear, concise, and personalized way. We also include information for research studies in specific clinical situations.
  • Impactful discovery: Our researchers continue working to find answers even after testing is complete. Through both internal research efforts and global collaborations, we have identified and published hundreds of new disease-gene relationships and developed novel tools for genomic data analysis.
