The Senior Production Coordinator drives material readiness, ensures timely delivery of parts, and optimizes inventory management during the production ramp of Mega-Class satellites.
The summary above was generated by AI

K2 is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, unlocking performance levels previously out of reach across every orbit. Backed by $450M from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, T. Rowe Price, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Alpine Space Ventures, and others with an additional $500M in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers – we’re mass-producing the highest-power satellite platforms ever built for missions from LEO to deep space.

The rise of heavy-lift launch vehicles is shifting the industry from an era of mass constraint to one of mass abundance, and we believe this new era demands a fundamentally different class of spacecraft. Engineered to survive the harshest radiation environments and to fully capitalize on today’s and tomorrow’s massive rockets, K2 satellites deliver unmatched capability at constellation scale and across multiple orbits.

With multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027, we're Building Bigger to develop the solar system and become a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization. If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and you're excited about contributing to the success of a groundbreaking Series C space startup, we’d love for you to apply.

The Role

You will play a critical role driving material readiness and production flow across multiple assembly areas during a period of production ramp of the Mega-Class satellite. You will work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Production leadership to ensure flight hardware is staged, kitted, and delivered to the line on time, while ensuring system accuracy. This is a hands-on role that requires floor presence picking, kitting, staging, and moving parts to keep high-performance production lines moving, all whilst maintaining quality standards and alignment with schedule goals.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end material flow for assigned production areas to ensure parts and assemblies are available, staged, and delivered on time to support build schedules
  • Monitor, pick, stage, and physically move parts across receiving, inspection, stockroom, line-side inventory, production work centers, test, and shipping as required during production ramp
  • Lead the setup, organization, and optimization of lineside inventory and kitting for new production work centers including layout, labeling, storage solutions, and hardware protection
  • Coordinate with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Production to maintain accurate and reliable MRP/ERP data reflecting physical material status
  • Develop and maintain material readiness trackers, shortage reports, and constraint visibility for production leadership
  • Perform de-kitting and coordinate return to stock or return to vendor processes
  • Reconcile BOM discrepancies and assist in correcting system data in ERP/MRP tools
  • Mentor other Production Coordinators and expeditors, set execution standards
  • Communicate part status, risks, and blockers to supervisors, managers, and leadership
  • Support work order execution as needed issuing parts, de-kitting, and performing system corrections
  • Drive continuous improvement in lineside inventory management and staging processes
  • Manage physical and digital library of calibrated tools in production areas

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • 6+ years of experience handling parts in a production manufacturing environment
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Warp Drive etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Strong computer skills, familiar with the full suite of Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated inventory experience in a high paced environment
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Experience working with data tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, or similar)
  • APICS certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technology field

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as bending or twisting, grasping, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying
  • Must be able to lift and carry parts or equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay range for this non-exempt role is $30 – $38 + equity in the company
  • Compensation will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
  • Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perks

If you don’t meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply! Building a spacecraft unlike any other requires a team unlike any other and non-traditional career twists and turns are encouraged!

If you need a reasonable accommodation as part of your application for employment or interviews with us, please let us know.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
