Reports to: Manager, Creative Production
Location: Remote US
Compensation Range: $110,000 to $120,000 base plus bonus and equity
What We Do:
Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.
Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers' protection.
Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.
What You’ll Do:
The Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training team is growing, and this role will help expand how we bring training to life through more interactive, game-like learning experiences.
As a Senior Production Artist, you will create the visual assets, environments, and storyboards that power memorable security awareness content. You will lead the visual development of our educational simulations, creating immersive game environments where learners actively apply cybersecurity skills through engaging, hands-on play. This role sits at the intersection of illustration, production art, and gameplay-minded visual design — helping shape experiences that feel intuitive, playful, and engaging while still delivering clear educational outcomes.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with writers, animators, product designers, researchers, and creative leadership to translate learning goals into polished visual systems and interactive content. You’ll own workstreams from concept through production, help solve creative pipeline problems, and contribute to a repeatable art process that scales as Huntress invests further in simulations, gamified training, and other interactive learning formats.
If you’re excited by visual storytelling, interaction design, and building game-inspired experiences that help people stay safer online, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Educational Game Experience Design
- Translate educational curriculum and learning objectives into playable game mechanics and risk/reward systems
- Core Loop & Systems Design: Define the moment-to-moment feel, pacing, reward systems, and difficulty curves to keep students engaged without sacrificing educational rigor
- Prototyping & Playtesting: Contribute to playtesting by identifying usability friction, confusing feedback, and visual clarity issues for implementable design improvements
- Analytics & Outcomes: Define engagement metrics, retention rates, and learning outcomes to evaluate the game's effectiveness after launch

- Strong illustration and asset-production skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to create polished, scalable assets in an established style
- Ability to take loosely defined ideas and turn them into production-ready concepts, layouts, and asset libraries with minimal oversight
- A strong eye for visual consistency, readability, hierarchy, and environmental storytelling across characters, worlds, and interfaces
- Comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-moving, iterative environment and contributing thoughtful feedback that improves the final experience
- Experience with storyboarding, scene planning, or pre-visualization for interactive or animated content is preferred
- Familiarity with game design principles such as feedback loops, player guidance, challenge framing, reward moments, and moment-to-moment visual clarity is preferred
- Experience with After Effects, motion workflows, or handoff to animation is a plus
- Experience using AI-assisted creative tools responsibly for early ideation, variation, or background development is preferred
- An online portfolio is required for this position
