  • Demonstrates experience in helping stakeholders identify business value/objectives and uses this to prioritize work. 
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively negotiate between competing stakeholders to ensure the highest value objectives are met. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product analytics by creating and using delivery metrics, predictability, and forecasting; given appropriate data, can create (and draw conclusions from) a forecast and communicate that information to stakeholders with progress updates and metrics. 
  • Proficient at researching, analyzing, and identifying requirements. 
  • Demonstrates ability to clearly identify and explain what business value is.  
  • Proficient at breaking down and organizing requirements and the relationship between business goals, product vision, and Epics/Capabilities/Features/Stories; must be clearly visible and aligned.  

Agile Knowledge 

  • Can explain both agile and lean software development values and principles. 
  • Can explain various ways to create features and user stories with documented acceptance criteria.   

Meeting Facilitation 

  • Has effectively led meetings of 20 or more people. 
  • Can illustrate examples of how to prepare for and run effective meetings. 
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and has a customer focused mindset.  

Desired Skills 

  • Experience as a Product Owner/Manager. 
  • Ability to conduct and document gap analysis. 
  • Experience creating user story maps. 
  • Experience collaborating with other product owners and teams to prioritize and align dependencies.  
  • Experience with data management / data warehouse and reporting concepts are a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Oracle EBS, Empower, Bullhorn, or Beeline Talent Management software packages are a plus. 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $108,400 to $135,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

The Product Owner is a connector, orchestrator, and navigator between the IT (Information Technology) Organization and the Business, ensuring that the product delivered meets the needs and business requirements of our business partners and aligns with company objectives. The Product Owner turns vision into reality and, with the solution architect, helps guide the delivery team to create innovative solutions in real-world applications. 

WWT is looking for a Product Owner to develop and execute a delivery roadmap to improve data visibility, data quality, and timeliness to support performance reporting, process improvement, and AI-driven initiatives for our Professional Services organization.

Our ideal candidate should have previous experience owning one or more products and have a solid understanding of product management skills, while also having a general familiarity with data structures, data analytics, and understanding the role data plays in reporting and AI.This person will be participating in release planning events, daily scrums, and other technical discussions as needed. They will have experience working with all levels of management and should have excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. This candidate will need to be able to forge relationships and become a trusted advisor to our business partners for their product. The candidate must also have real-world experience working as part of an Agile team and possess the ability to distill business value and goals into roadmaps and build refined product backlogs.

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand the existing product vision of the business partner and assist in defining a new product vision that ensures the right product is built. 
  • Ensures the product vision is clearly communicated to the delivery team and understood by the team.Works with the delivery team daily to answer questions and review/approve stories.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Product Manager, peers, stakeholders, business partners, and development teams.Influences direction and fosters a team environment.
  • Manages emerging priorities and escalations addressing internal or external customer needs/requests and helps adjust the existing work of the delivery team where necessary
  • Partners closely with Product Manager, Business Partners, and Stakeholders to understand how their product contributes to the success of business goals and determine how to implement capabilities within their product to support these initiatives. 
  • Initiates and drives process improvements, AI and automation opportunities, and service improvements. 
  • Partner with the Product Manager to manage 3rd party licenses, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships.  
  • Partner with the Product Manager to manage the budget for a portfolio of products. 
  • Develops an understanding of the product user base – including other systems that rely on the product and likewise other systems the product relies on – to support and guide product decisions with stakeholders. 
  • Negotiates with the Product Manager, business partners, stakeholders, and delivery team to prioritize work in the backlog and help maximize the value the team delivers. 
  • Works with other product owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across other product development teams. 
  • Works with the delivery team to write and refine user stories. 
  • Ensures the team understands the context of the stories in the backlog and has adequate information to deliver the stories. 
  • Keeps track of trends in the industry and of competition. 
  • Partners with the Product Manager to develop, maintain, and communicate the product roadmap (including short-term/long-term goals) to the delivery team, business partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Ensures frequent demos occur to business partners and stakeholders to confirm the product being delivered meets the needs of the business partners. 
  • Confident communicator that can explain technology to non-technical audiences. 
  • Understands business rules and logic in order to support story development.
