At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

Our Team

The Content Experience Innovation (CEI) product team is leading the strategy to shape how Netflix members discover and engage with new content types. This includes 0 to 1 areas such as Live events, Podcasts, Creator content, Games discovery and more. Our work spans all platforms (TV/living room, mobile, tablet, and web), and includes features and experiences across discovery/browse, player, profiles, and new surfaces. We sit at the intersection of Product, Tech, Content, and Production, and act as the connective tissue that keeps our product surface in step with our content strategy.

This role sits on the Configurations team within Content Experience Innovation (CEI), connecting CEI with the broader business through configurable, high-velocity capabilities that scale globally and for every content type. We are looking for a Senior Product Operations Lead/Program Manager to join our team.

The Role

You’ll own the product operations backbone of the team including the ways of working, operating rhythms, portfolio visibility, and systems that make a fast-moving product organization more efficient and effective. You’ll also be responsible for aligning those operating rhythms to those of our partner teams across Product + Tech, working in lock step with the Prod Ops partners Member Experience and Commerce product orgs to ensure we all work together toward a cohesive end member experience. You’ll also flex into Program Management to drive critical innovation programs across the team to bring our product vision to life.

What You Will Do

  • Strengthen how the team works by defining, documenting, and maintaining the ways of working and standards that keep product development running smoothly.
  • Run the team's core operating cadences, including planning, OKRs, and QBRs while coordinating inputs, timelines, and deliverables, and turning them into clear, actionable and decision-ready readouts for leadership.
  • Own portfolio-level operations: manage intake and prioritization, maintain the roadmap and launch calendar, and give the team and its partners a clear view of what's in flight, what's coming, and what's at risk.
  • Drive stakeholder communication and alignment by keeping partners across Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams informed of key dates, changes, and dependencies, and maintain a single, trusted source of truth for plans, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Design and build scalable systems, workflows, and tooling that reduce manual effort and make the team faster, leveraging AI and automation where it creates efficiency.
  • Identify operational opportunity areas across the product development lifecycle, and drive improvements that increase quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Partner with New Content Exploration and various Product and Tech teams on initiatives within their innovation roadmaps.
  • Lead complex programs that cut across product areas that transform the way we work, managing high degrees of change.
  • Partner with senior leadership to shape the business vision and opportunity of transformation efforts.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of Product Operations, Product or Program Management, Business Operations, or related experience in a product-driven organization.
  • A track record of designing and scaling operational processes, rhythms, and systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Fluency with operating cadences such as planning, OKRs, and QBRs, and the ability to turn messy inputs into clean, decision-ready outputs.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to connect the dots between projects and programs to ladder up to company and team goals
  • Demonstrated ability to build tooling and workflows that create leverage, including practical use of AI and automation to improve efficiency.
  • A sharp eye for operational opportunity areas across a product development lifecycle, and the judgment to prioritize the improvements that matter most.
  • Strong cross-functional partnering skills across Product, Engineering, TPM, Design, and non-technical teams.
  • Fluency with product/ops tooling (e.g., Jira, Airtable) and comfort adapting shared frameworks to what a team actually needs.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, including clear updates for leadership.
  • Content discovery, merchandising performance management, or recommendation systems domain experience preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
