Your Mission:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to shape how AfterShip tells its story and wins in the global market.

This is not just another PMM role. You’ll work closely with the Head of Product Marketing and other GTM leaders to be the strategic voice connecting our products to customer needs. You’ll define how we position, package, and launch solutions that drive revenue growth. From messaging frameworks and persona development to market insights, you’ll build the go-to-market strategy that guides how AfterShip shows up with customers, partners, and the market.

With high visibility across leadership and GTM teams, you’ll play a defining role in:

  • Shaping the company’s go-to-market engine globally, with a heavy focus on North America
  • Translating product innovation into compelling, customer-centric narratives
  • Equipping GTM teams with the stories and tools that drive pipeline and adoption
  • Informing global positioning that helps AfterShip stand out against top competitors

This role reports to the Head of Product Marketing in NA and will require some collaboration across time zones around 1-3 times a week.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead GTM strategy, ensuring our messaging resonates with regional markets and drives business growth.
  • Own the story: craft solution-based narratives that make complex product value simple, clear, and compelling.
  • Define personas & frameworks that ground our strategy in real customer insights.
  • Assess market opportunities and use data and research insights to sharpen positioning and influence product roadmaps.
  • Partner with Sales & Enablement to ensure messaging flows into training, collateral, and customer conversations.
  • Build competitive intelligence that arms teams with clear differentiation against top players.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to align strategy and execution.

Who We're Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, ideally within SaaS or eCommerce.
  • Proven success in both PLG and sales-led GTM models.
  • A builder and doer: you move quickly from strategy to execution, roll up your sleeves, and get things done without waiting for perfect conditions.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills; you can translate complex product value into compelling, customer-ready narratives.
  • Proven ability turning messaging, positioning, personas, and competitive insights into effective enablement tools that increased win rates and reduced churn.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to synthesize customer and market data into actionable direction.
  • Collaborative by nature, with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven success leveraging AI tools and insights to enhance go-to-market execution and deliver sharper outcomes.

At AfterShip, we understand that not all applicants will have skills that match the job description exactly. We value diverse experiences and respect that experience comes in many different forms, so even if you feel you may not meet every qualification to a T then we still encourage you to apply. We are always looking for people who can help us continue to raise the bar for our team and who want to join us on our mission.

Why You Should Join Us:

  • Great Place to Work Certified: We’ve been recognized for our inclusive, values-driven culture that celebrates diversity and collaboration.
  • Innovative & Inclusive Culture: Started by our software engineer-turned-CEO, AfterShip is built on curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. We’re a passionate, global team of problem solvers who put egos aside to innovate together. We take immense pride in fostering a culture that’s inclusive, which has allowed us to surround ourselves with the industry's most talented professionals.
  • Ambitious Mission with Real Impact: Join us in transforming eCommerce by making buying and selling easier for everyone. It’s one of the most dynamic spaces in tech, with limitless opportunities to innovate and grow.
  • Thrive & Grow: There’s no ceiling to what you can achieve or learn here. We’re committed to empowering your career while advancing together as a company.
  • Flexible Work Setup: We’re a remote-first team, meaning by default that employees work from home or on a hybrid-flexible basis in our hub locations (Toronto, Austin, Barcelona). You’re empowered to choose a work setup that works best for you and your team. With flexible hours depending on your time zone, you’ll be able to have a schedule that fits your working style and the requirements of your role.

Perks:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Remote-first/hybrid-flexible work setups
  • Healthcare coverage offered from day 1
  • Retirement plans including company match
  • Annual learning & wellness benefit
  • Monthly book perk
  • Career progression & professional development
  • In-office lunch and commuter benefits for those located in our hub locations

We are an equal opportunity employer. In addition, we are committed to providing accommodations for applicants upon request at any stage of the recruitment process in accordance with the legislative requirements of this job’s location. Please let us know if you require accommodation due to a disability during any aspect of the recruitment process and we will work with you to address your needs.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
