ABOUT US

Trusted by 900,000 monthly active users, UpCodes (YC S17) is a comprehensive compliance and product research platform that accelerates design to construction in the AEC space. The construction industry suffers from unnecessary costs and complexity; every year billions of dollars are wasted on rework. We’re committed to delivering easy-to-use tools that help designers and builders spend less time finding the right compliance and product resources and more time doing what they love — designing and building. We make a real world tangible impact on the lives of our users and their work of constructing our homes, schools, hospitals, and offices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will be a founding member of UpCodes’ marketing team, playing a pivotal role in driving our go-to-market (GTM) strategy. You’ll work to ensure our products resonate with customers, drive adoption, and fuel growth.

You will own key product marketing initiatives—from crafting compelling messaging and narratives to analyzing market trends and enabling sales—to ensure product success. As a high-impact individual contributor, you will work cross-functionally to bring products to market successfully and serve as the voice of the customer.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in an environment where they can develop the strategy for the PMM function and execute it. You will define market positioning, develop sales enablement materials, and execute product launches that drive measurable business impact, accelerating product adoption and revenue growth—with the freedom to experiment, iterate, and build scalable processes that will shape UpCodes’ long-term marketing foundation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You'll play a key role in shaping and executing our product marketing strategy by:

  • GTM Strategy: Develop and execute GTM strategies for new product launches and feature updates, including but not limited to blogs, videos, webinars, emails, and social assets.

  • Positioning & Messaging: Craft compelling, differentiated messaging that clearly communicates the value of our products.

  • Sales Enablement: Create sales tools, collateral, and training materials to empower sales teams with the right messaging and competitive insights.

  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct research to understand customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape. Work with sales, customer support, and external resources to keep sales collateral up to date and produce a quarterly market and TAM report.

  • Customer Insights & Feedback: Collaborate with customers, sales, and customer success teams to gather insights that shape product development and marketing.

  • Performance Tracking: Measure and analyze the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives, using data to refine strategies and optimize results.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, sales, and demand generation teams to ensure alignment and execution of marketing initiatives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experienced Product Marketer: 4–7 years of experience in product marketing within a B2B SaaS or tech company.

  • GTM Strategist: You have a strong grasp of GTM strategies and can craft compelling narratives, positioning, and messaging that make products stand out. You’ve developed sales enablement materials and know how to arm sales teams with the insights they need to win.

  • Natural storyteller: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex product features into clear, engaging messaging tailored to different audiences.

  • Data-Driven: You are familiar with marketing analytics tools and CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, and Google Analytics.

  • Strong Project Manager: You excel at managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring projects stay on track and deliver results.

  • Thrives in Fast-Paced & Collaborative Environments: You work seamlessly across different departments, adapting quickly to new challenges and driving alignment in a dynamic setting.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
