The opportunity
At Unity, we help game developers bring their ideas to life and ship great games across every platform. Our product marketing team is growing to support the next wave of technologies shaping how games are built — including AI, XR, and new platform capabilities — and to deepen our work with the partners driving this innovation alongside us.

As a Product Marketing Manager focused on Emerging Technologies, you’ll help define and launch new engine-level capabilities, manage strategic partner relationships, and support developers adopting AI, AR, VR, MR, and XR in their games. In this role, you’ll work closely with industry-leading companies, shape product direction, and build programs that increase awareness, adoption, and long-term retention of the Unity Editor and Engine.

We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely curious about where game development is heading, energized by new technology, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. If you love working across teams, solving messy developer problems, and turning technical advancements into clear value for creators, this role is for you.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and coordinate go-to-market campaigns focused on new engine features, AI tooling, and XR workflows — with a focus on developer education, upskilling, and successful adoption.
  • Draft, write, and maintain clear messaging based on your first-hand insight on the market, audiences, and the industry. You mine information and help the business understand what it is and why it matters.
  • Build, run, and be the central orchestration point on product launches, being accountable for bringing the right people together to execute on a bill of materials that achieves our goals and OKRs. You concept and publish content.
  • Support the revenue organization with sales enablement and customer-facing materials about your product and initiatives. Building this relationship is critical.
  • Know the product/solution intimately, the actual technology, and be able to empathize with the user experience. You deliver demos, training, and showcase the product.
  • Be the source of truth on the latest product changes by working with product management. Translate the roadmap and new business dynamics into actionable marketing activities.

What we're looking for

  • 8-10 years of experience in product marketing or go-to-market strategy, preferably in gaming or XR.
  • Demonstrated work experience in product or technical marketing targeting developers and technical decision makers.
  • Proven experience writing positioning and messaging frameworks that translate features into value-based messaging.
  • Ability to proactively work cross-team and cross-org, driving alignment with key collaborators for impactful go-to-market execution.
  • Effectively connect with customers and partners to understand insights or contribute to research.
  • Curiosity about getting things done in a growing and flexible organization with a willingness to do things differently.
  • Skilled communicator who actively seeks feedback, learns from mistakes, and builds on existing work to have an even bigger impact.
  • Storytelling and visual presentation abilities - capability of distilling technical topics into clear and concise media.

You might also have

  • Partner marketing or partner-management experience, especially with platform, AI, or XR companies.
  • Hands-on experience using the Unity Engine or other game development tools.
  • A genuine passion for games and game development.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
