Overview

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead key product initiatives across Modo's portfolio of products. This role will take ownership of one or more sub-teams and be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle—from strategy and planning to execution and optimization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mobile product management, with domain experience in social gaming, real-money gaming, and sweepstakes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate clear product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with company goals and customer needs.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and analytics to build and launch high-impact features.

  • Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements based on data, research, and business input.

  • Drive initiatives using agile product development practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user acceptance testing.

  • Analyze user behavior, A/B tests, and market trends to inform product decisions and optimize performance.

  • Create detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Own KPIs and reporting for product success; continuously monitor and improve product performance.

  • Ensure consistent communication and alignment with stakeholders.

  • Mentor junior team members and help develop scalable product processes as the team grows.

Project Management Responsibilities
  • Manage and track the delivery of multiple complex initiatives across work streams.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and blockers early in the process.

  • Run efficient meetings, document outcomes, and ensure follow-through on key action items.

  • Coordinate with leadership and other departments to manage timelines, budgets, and scope effectively.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of launching and scaling mobile products.

  • Experience working in social gaming, real-money gaming, or sweepstakes-based platforms strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without formal authority.

  • Experience in mobile app development and lifecycle management is required.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a data-informed mindset.

  • Proficiency with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Computer Science, etc.); MBA or technical degree a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
