You will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for data platform and analytics products that help improve safety, hiring decisions, and operational outcomes for both internal and external customers.

In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of Foley’s products, customers, and the transportation market, and use that insight to deliver data-driven solutions that create meaningful impact. You will partner closely with Engineering, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Compliance to ensure products are valuable, usable, and trusted.

What you’ll do

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Build a strong understanding of the questions stakeholders and customer personas are trying to answer using data to improve safety and hiring outcomes.

Execution & Delivery

  • Translate complex business requirements into clear product specifications and partner with technical teams to ensure alignment.

  • Collaborate with Engineering to prioritize features, manage tradeoffs, and address technical debt.

  • Operate effectively within an agile/Scrum environment, leveraging SDLC tools such as Atlassian or Azure DevOps.

Data Storytelling & Enablement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, gathering requirements, providing updates, and managing expectations.

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment and successful go-to-market execution.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a strong feedback loop using metrics, user feedback, and data analysis to guide iterative development.

  • Ensure data products comply with industry standards and regulations related to data security, privacy, and governance.

  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to embed best practices around data ethics and responsible data usage.

Who you are
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Math, or equivalent experience.

  • For non-CS majors, hands-on experience with software development, launch, or management of a data platform.

  • 3+ years of experience in data product management or a related role, with a track record of successful delivery across both 0→1 and iterative products.

  • A strong data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze information and use insights to make informed decisions.

  • Experience with BI and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, ThoughtSpot, or similar tools.

  • Working knowledge of modern computing platforms, software architectures, and database design.

  • Experience working in Scrum or other agile delivery models.

  • Familiarity with the product development lifecycle and SDLC tools (e.g., Atlassian suite, Azure DevOps).

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • A growth mindset, curiosity, empathy for users, and a results-driven approach to problem-solving.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
