Overview

First Resonance is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of innovative software solutions for manufacturing companies. This role is for a seasoned professional with deep, firsthand experience from the factory floor, supply chain, or manufacturing systems, eager to translate that knowledge into impactful software. You'll join a small, high-impact product team, working directly with engineers and customers to define strategy, prioritize needs, drive the development of functional prototypes, launch features, measure their impact, and ultimately shape the future of our product.

Responsibilities & Duties

As a Senior Product Manager, your primary goal is to strategically design and deliver exceptional product experiences and services that empower manufacturers to build faster, safer, and more flexibly. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from strategic discovery and concept validation to meticulous delivery and post-launch optimization. You will feel a strong sense of ownership, initiating new ideas, and collaboratively refining them with internal teams and key stakeholders.

  • Lead product strategy and execution: Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for key areas within manufacturing and supply chain, aligning with company goals and market opportunities.

  • Drive complex problem-solving: Proactively identify and deeply understand intricate manufacturing and supply chain challenges, translating them into clear product requirements and innovative solutions.

  • Champion user-centric design: Partner closely with customers through advanced user research, iterative prototyping, and comprehensive acceptance testing to deeply understand and optimize their complex manufacturing workflows.

  • Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate extensively with Engineering, Product Design, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to transform complex manufacturing processes into intuitive, high-quality user experiences.

  • Strategic impact and continuous improvement: Identify and prioritize significant opportunities to improve our existing product and contribute actively to the overall product strategy, balancing critical user needs, technical feasibility, and overarching business goals.

  • Data-driven decision making: Leverage quantitative and qualitative data, user insights, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions, create compelling initiatives, and validate product ideas and designs.

  • Mentorship and guidance: Provide guidance and share best practices with other product managers and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of product excellence.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, supply chain, or related fields, with a strong preference for experience within a startup or enterprise software environment.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with ERP, MES, PLM, QMS, or other critical factory-floor software, demonstrating a deep understanding of their functionalities and integration challenges.

  • Proven track record of working directly with manufacturers and supply chain experts (e.g., engineers, operators, planners, inventory specialists, supply chain directors) at various organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to own the end-to-end product lifecycle from initial strategic concept and ideation through detailed implementation, with exceptional attention to detail in the hand-off and collaboration with Engineering teams.

  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for advanced functional prototyping, developing detailed specifications, analyzing complex user feedback, and generating data-driven, actionable recommendations.

  • A highly customer-centric mindset with a demonstrated ability to deeply understand, effectively frame, and innovatively solve complex customer problems.

  • Strong excitement and vision for envisioning and shaping the future of customer experience in manufacturing.

  • Exceptional ability to present and articulate ideas and strategic initiatives to both internal stakeholders and external customers at all levels.

  • A systems thinking mindset, capable of navigating from high-level strategic concepts down to intricate edge case details.

  • Comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity and highly motivated to take full ownership of significant product areas.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience following and championing agile product development methodologies at a senior level.

  • Solid understanding of web services, including transport (primarily HTTP), common data formats (JSON and XML), and standard API patterns (e.g., GraphQL, REST).

  • Deep familiarity and practical experience with agile workflows and product rituals (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives) in a leadership capacity.

  • A strong interest and/or proven experience in building out sophisticated product functionality specifically around manufacturing execution, supply chain optimization, or industrial IoT.

Benefits & Perks

  • Health Insurance; medical, vision, dental, & life insurance.

  • Paid Parental Leave.

  • Employee Stock Option Plan.

  • Team outings, group lunches, open office, happy hours.

  • Paid holidays, sick days.

  • Flexible Friday and PTO.

  • 401K.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
