About the teamJoin a team of product managers dedicated to delivering innovative technology solutions for Zillow’s People Org. Our team drives the product strategy and execution of work supporting HR and empowering all employees, collaborating closely with engineering partners to make Workday work better for all.
As part of the CoreTech team, we support the platforms and foundational services that enable teams across Zillow Group to build the world’s best real estate experience and fulfill Zillow’s mission to make home a reality for more people.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to drive the vision and execution of enhancements to Workday across modules such as Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Core HCM, and Talent Acquisition; experience with at least one of these areas is required, and experience across multiple modules is a plus. Experience applying AI or automation within HR systems or Workday Extend is a plus. This role is both strategic and tactical: you will influence product direction while also driving end‑to‑end execution of projects that improve HR operations and the employee experience in Workday. You will be a strategic partner for HR stakeholders and a champion for employee experience, using strong written and verbal communication to articulate product vision, goals, and decisions through effective storytelling. You will manage stakeholders at all levels to drive alignment, proactively identify and resolve areas of misalignment while maintaining trust, and own your roadmap—managing dependencies, gathering input, setting expectations, and negotiating tradeoffs. You will also make thoughtful decisions about when to scale, iterate on, or sunset products, grounded in a deep understanding of People Org processes, customer needs, company strategy, and effective cross‑functional collaboration to ensure successful product delivery and launches.

You will get to

  • Understand business goals, uncover employee pain points, and translate functional requirements into a clear, outcome‑driven product vision for Workday.

  • Own and evolve the Workday roadmap, balancing near‑term operational needs with longer‑term scalability, automation, and employee experience improvements.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce friction, and improve self‑service across Workday domains.

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Workday enhancements, including problem definition, requirements, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, testing, launch, and post‑launch validation to drive measurable improvements in HR and employee experiences.

  • Create clarity in ambiguous situations, quickly making sense of the work and aligning teams toward an achievable path forward.

  • Guide stakeholders through problem framing, solution design, tradeoffs, and sequencing decisions, and drive alignment across teams by clarifying ownership, dependencies, expectations, and resolving misalignment.

  • Communicate product direction, progress, risks, and outcomes through clear product briefs, demos, status updates, and executive‑ready storytelling.

  • Partner with the Employee Service Center and Operations to design, improve, and scale sustainable Workday processes and solutions that support global scale, interoperability, reliability, and ease of use.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont the standard base pay range for this role is $141,200.00 - $225,600.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

Who you are
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager with direct product ownership in an Agile environment, partnering closely with engineers and cross‑functional stakeholders.

  • 2–4 years of experience executing product development within Workday, with hands‑on experience in at least one of the following domains: Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, HCM, AI, and/or Extend; experience across multiple Workday modules is a plus but not required.

  • Comfortable leveraging AI and automation to work more effectively and increase impact.

  • Proven ability to manage and deliver across multiple large‑scale initiatives simultaneously, balancing quality, impact, and timelines.

  • Clear, concise, and effective communicator with strong judgment on when to step back to reassess alignment and when to step in to remove operational blockers and drive progress.

  • Demonstrated end‑to‑end product management and technical implementation experience, including discovery, requirements definition, planning, prioritization, stakeholder management, user testing, launch execution, and measuring post‑launch impact, with a strong track record of delivering high‑quality outcomes.

  • Experienced in guiding prioritization and making thoughtful trade‑off decisions that balance customer needs with technical and organizational constraints.

  • Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non‑traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
