The Portfolio Planning & Tooling Team: The team’s mission is to drive efficiency, transparency, and scalability for the Portfolio Planning & Tooling systems and frameworks we have built and implemented. We aim to ensure that our portfolio of product development plans, investments, deliverables, and work are visible, traceable, and managed through standardized processes and centralized tooling.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager for Portfolio Planning & Tooling who can effectively lead the onboarding of teams migrating to our Atlassian products and increase adoption of the Atlassian product suite. This person will be part of the team collaborating with the Product Manager Excellence team on standard product development practices to improve PEMD excellence. The ideal candidate will have site administration experience with Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence, Atlassian Analytics, etc.), be able to implement and enforce tooling standards, and build and deliver enablement materials for onboarding and training.

  • Product Development Lifecycle: Uses extensive knowledge of product development Agile practices to align tool usage, effectively balancing consistency and scalability with the unique needs and autonomy of each team

  • Enablement: Support product, design, marketing, and engineering operations teams in their product lifecycle delivery processes, applying tools like Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian suite products

  • Onboarding & Training: Lead tool training and onboarding, collaborating with learning and development teams and portfolio management leaders to drive adoption and enablement. Develop enablement materials and AI tools in support of tool usage, configuration, and standards to ensure a balance between team flexibility and cross-organization visibility

  • Tooling & Standards: Develop and maintain enablement materials, ensuring a balance between team flexibility and cross-organization visibility through standardized processes and centralized tooling

  • Tool & System Maintenance: Partners with a small engineering/admin team on the upkeep and usage of our Atlassian suite

  • Collaboration with Partners: Join discussions with collaborators to advocate for tool adoption, governance, standards, and successful strategies

  • Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain reports using Tableau, Atlassian Analytics, or similar tools to support the transparency and inspection of portfolio data

  • User Support: Troubleshoot user-reported issues and provide support through office hours and user groups

  • Strategic Roadmapping: Prioritize and plan roadmaps, synthesizing disparate requirements to support overall organizational goals

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $145,500.00 - $232,500.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager operating in an Agile development environment.

  • Collaborator: Consistent track record of partnering with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Design teams to support work structure and reporting through tooling

  • Agile Authority: Extensive experience in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies, with a deep understanding of product development processes

  • Innovative Problem Solver: Recognized for creative problem-solving skills and the ability to comprehend processes and translate them into practical tooling approaches or reports

  • Customer-Centric: Always considering the impact on teams with every proposed change, ensuring customer-centric solutions

  • Experienced Leader: Proven success in supporting tooling at scale (> 3,000 individuals) and implementing change within a medium-to-large company

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using Atlassian products, AI tools, and reporting tools to drive excellence in product development

  • Strategic Communicator: Outstanding interpersonal skills, adept at influencing and building consensus in a remote environment
