About the right team member

We’re looking for a seasoned Sr. PM to drive our Gym vertical. As PM for Gym, you'll own the full product strategy for one of the most ambitious bets in our New Verticals organization. That means 0→1 product work, business model discovery, and building for both sides of a marketplace: gym-goers who want seamless access, and gym operators who need a genuine growth partner. This is a high-visibility role with a greenfield opportunity.

This role is a good fit if you…
  • Have gone 0→1 and driven a product to product-market fit in a new or undefined space
  • Have built for both sides of a marketplace — B2C and B2B
  • Bring strong business acumen — can navigate business model uncertainty and make tough trade-offs
  • Are technically sharp and can weigh in on architectural decisions and independently interpret data
  • Have a rigorous experimentation track record: you know how to design a good test and learn fast from the results
  • Communicate with clarity across audiences — engineers, executives, and external partners alike
  • Are execution-focused and know how to unblock teams while balancing speed and quality
  • Have deep consumer empathy and act as a true product owner with a high bar for craft and detail
  • Leverage AI to multiply your impact
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product strategy for the Gym vertical
    • Define a clear vision aligned with company goals and user needs
    • Drive business-model discovery — figure out how ClassPass creates and captures value here
    • Prioritize ruthlessly, balancing near-term wins with long-term bets
  • Build for both sides of the marketplace
    • Develop deep empathy for gym-goers and gym operators alike
    • Build consumer products that are intuitive and operator tools that genuinely help gyms grow
    • Partner with UX and research across both surfaces
  • Execute with excellence
    • Own the product lifecycle end-to-end: discovery through post-launch optimization
    • Collaborate with engineering on feasibility, quality, and speed
    • Drive transparency through strong documentation and cross-team communication
  • Engage and align stakeholders
    • Communicate vision, roadmap, and progress to senior leadership
    • Build relationships with gym operator partners; gather feedback to shape the roadmap
    • Partner with marketing and sales on positioning and launches
Skills & experience
  • 5+ years of PM experience, with a meaningful portion in 0→1 or new-business contexts
  • A strong track record building high-quality products on both sides of a marketplace — consumer-facing and operator/partner-facing; B2B2C experience is a strong plus
  • Deep experience with consumer mobile apps
  • Technically and analytically sharp: you understand how products are built, can query data independently, and have run large-scale experiments
  • Sharp product intuition grounded in user research and data
  • Excellent communicator — across engineering, design, data science, business, and external partners
  • Experience in agile, full-stack product teams from discovery through delivery
What you'll accomplish

By the end of year one, you'll have shipped meaningful product to both sides of the marketplace, have early signals on PMF, and be able to articulate a clear thesis for where our Gym product goes next.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
