About VSCO

For years, we've helped photographers create their work. Now we're building what comes next.

VSCO exists for photographers. Not as a side feature, not as an afterthought, but as the whole point. We build the connected system photographers rely on, and we've spent over a decade earning the trust of a global creative community that takes the craft seriously.

Photography is at an inflection point. AI is reshaping what's possible for creative work, and that's where our mission shines. VSCO is building the full photographer's workflow: from creating and editing your work, to delivering it to clients, to running your business. All of it built thoughtfully, with photographers leading the way. We believe the future of photography tools creates more space for creativity, handling the busy work so photographers can focus on the craft.

If you care about craft, community, and what technology can unlock for creative people, this is the work. We're a mission-driven and focused company where your work ships quickly, is meaningful, and reaches tens of millions of people worldwide. You'll have a real say in what we build and how we build it. We hire people who don't wait to be asked, naturally connect the dots, care about the quality of what they ship, and believe the best outcomes come from building together.

About The Role

VSCO is looking for an ambitious and high agency Senior Product Manager to bring to life new product experiences that help photographers build more sustainable businesses for their incredible work.

Photography isn’t just an art form, it’s a business. Today, many photographers make a living through VSCO. We believe we should be a bigger part in enabling – and participating in – that economic exchange. This is where you come in: in this role, you will define what this future looks like. You’ll identify the right opportunities, validate the most promising ones, and lead the development of products that help photographers unlock more income through VSCO. In helping photographers better monetize their work, you’ll ensure VSCO shows up as a true opportunities platform for photographers, not just a creative one.

We need someone ready to bring their deep curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, problem-solving skills, and authentic self to the job every day. As a member of our Product Management team, the company will look to you to drive economic opportunities and potential new business lines from the ground up. You’ll operate with founder-like ownership and lead close collaboration with our users, Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing , Finance, Trust & Safety and Legal teams to grow VSCO to the next order of magnitude, while deepening the love photographers have for our brand.

This role is a mix of forward-thinking strategy and user-centered product development. You’ll work at both a strategic and tactical level, turning new technologies, research, data, and intuition into THE platform where photographers turn and grow as pros.

In This Role, You Will…
  • Set the strategic direction and roadmap for VSCO Economy
  • Deeply understand the workflows, businesses, and economic needs of professional and aspiring photographers
  • Oversee delivery of innovative products and workflows that ensure successful outcomes for our users and for VSCO
  • Identify high-potential opportunities and lead discovery efforts to rapidly validate problems, willingness to pay, and business viability
  • Regularly speak with existing and potential customers to gather insights and inform direction
  • Actively uses AI tools to accelerate research, spec writing, data analysis, and decision-making
  • Build lightweight prototypes or automations using AI-assisted no-code tools to quickly specify and test hypotheses
  • Create clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and influence executive stakeholders through strong strategic thinking and communication
  • Be ruthless about scope and priority, even when flooded from multiple angles
  • Help shape future business lines for VSCO
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to ensure cohesion across the overall VSCO experience
You Have…
  • 5 -8 years as a full-time Product Manager with experience building for the creator economy
  • Strong systems thinking and 0 → 1 product experience that made a difference for your customer and drove business growth
  • Strategic judgement on monetization design and can reason through take-rate tradeoffs
  • Experience building payout infrastructure (Stripe Connect, PayPal Payouts, or similar), not just checkout
  • Delivered infrastructure heavy work, not just UI-layer features, and can go deep with engineering on payment infra reliability requirements
  • Previous exposure and understanding of KYC and the compliance side of payouts – you know what questions to bring to legal and finance and can deeply partner with them on possible solutions
  • A strong grasp of product strategy. You can define it, get buy-in from leadership, and motivate cross-functional teams to make that strategy a success
  • Superb spoken and written communication skills. You are a compelling storyteller that can digest a very complex product and problems and break them down to the entire company in easy to understand ways
  • You move fast, have high level of personal ownership, and are a natural instigator
  • You’re a strong partner to cross-functional teammates – understanding when it’s right to collaborate vs lead
  • You’re a great prioritizer, have strong instincts when it comes to what matters, and have experience making tough but smart trade-offs. You care about outcomes and output
  • You thrive in fast-paced startup environments where being comfortable with ambiguity and being resourceful are critical skills
Outstanding Candidates Also Have…
  • A deep understanding of photography and/or creative tooling industries
  • AI native product practices - You use AI tools by default in your own workflow
  • Founder-like levels of accountability
Job Perks
  • Competitive Salary & Equity
  • Healthcare insurance, vision, dental insurance for employees and families
  • Flexible Time Off
  • Company-paid parental, medical and caregiver leave

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
